So is this the first time ever a presidential candidate of a modern country suggested an assassination of his rival candidate?

Lol, damn. Shit's crazy.

Depends on the definition of modern country.

I mean Hitler did order assassination of political rivals (for example schleicher) after he came to power

In Japan a lot of "civil" politicians were assassinated by ultranationalist military officials

r/the_donald is getting loonier as the days go by. Love seeing these retrograde, repressed losers showing their true misogyny and hatred.

I think Trump genuinely has a serious mental disorder. The man actually needs treatment. Some sick fuck might actually act on this cunts words.

Dealing with my family...

Man I got suckered into playing the game of debunking the Clinton Body Bags conspiracy theory on Facebook last week. It's just the worst. If you debunk one or five or ten of the claims based on easily researchable evidence (not actually a suspicious death, not actually tied to Clinton, not an actual person who ever existed, etc.) it doesn't matter because the sheer number of BS claims means they'll keep throwing dozens more names at you and even if you debunk every single last one, they still won't care.

The worst! I hate this conspiratorial bullshit! And it's what drives people to accept shit like what Trump's saying.

It seems like Trump supporters are trying to counter this with some conspiracy theory that Hillary is killing random people? This kinda shit is being spammed to hell by one acquaintance on my Facebook feed.

Seems like desperation from the Trump supporters.

It's literally a 20 year old conspiracy theory that's just been getting pushed more over the past couple months.

Uhhhhhhhhh what.
It's definitely not the same situation at all, but in the 2008 primary, when it was clear that Clinton wasn't going to win and she was asked why she was continuing to fight, she did make a reference to what happened to Robert Kennedy as to why, someone who was assassinated during his run for the Presidency, clearly implying that something similar could happen to her opponent, then-Senator Obama. She was immediately heavily criticized for that at the time and apologized for them. But there's clearly a huge difference between what she said back then (which she apologized for, something Donald Trump very likely won't do at all), implying that unthinkable events like that can and do happen, and a much more direct call-to-action, like what Donald Trump's comments suggest.

I'm sorry but this kind of thing will drive me crazy. It's the "DEMOCRATIC nomination", not "Democrat nomination".

You're right, of course, but I find it a good barometer of who I'm dealing with. Only a certain kind of person uses Democrat instead of Democratic. It's a Republican talking point that has spread to the masses.

OMG the trump fans in my country uses the exact same excuses from the trump fans in the US! Please stop spreading any crap that comes from this human scum and his ilk!

I'm furious every time I hear that he "clearly" or "obviously" meant.

HE WAS TO VAUGE TO MEAN ANYTHING!

Being a shitty speaker doesn't mean vague, everything preceding and following the sentence gives something called context clues that any literate person can extract meaning from. And that meaning was heard loudly and clearly by everyone sitting behind him at the rally, so it's not just the "librul media".

People need to realize House of Cards is fiction.

Newt out here answering a question about Trump's mental fitness for the office the same way i respond to 'do you want fries with that?'

*Pause*

'Sure'

Not convincingly.

BARBARO: Sure?

GINGRICH: Sure. I mean, he is at least as reliable as Andrew Jackson, who was one of the most decisive presidents in American history. Nobody would have predicted Abraham Lincoln’s capabilities before he became president, and most people didn’t believe him while he was president.

the fuck kind of answer is that?

I appreciate some reports like from NBC where they said Trump suggested 2nd amendment people do something AFTER she became President. So when he clarified it was about voting, he's talking BS again.

But of course that will continue to be used as a defense. Within the context of what he said, it makes no sense. He wss specifically talking about the hypothetical situation (which isn't really hypothetical at this point) that Hillary becomes president and nominates liberal judges. His own words, there's nothing that can be done at that point except for what "second amendment people" (aka gun nuts) could possibly accomplish. There's no wiggle room.

This is at the point where it's beyond insane, with trump actually saying stuff but the amount of crazy stories that Clinton has debunk is absurd.
I heard she was on the grassy knoll tho

I watch some CNN coverage of this election from time to time, but who is that younger blonde woman who seems to idolise Trump? She's absolutely awful!

The most generous interpretation I can think of is that he was thinking out loud in a stupid way. "There is nothing that can stop her at that point--well, I suppose technically there's still violence so should I really say 'nothing?' Oh shit, why am I saying this."

Another thing is that it's sort of an extension of normal language on the pro-gun side. "the 2nd ammendment is there for when they try to take away the 1st ammendment" and so forth.

The amount of people who think he is funny for saying things like this is depressing

The only thing even remotely funny about any of this is that Trump only recently implied that Clinton was the actual devil, has been calling her "Crooked Hillary" for months, has multiple surrogates still on his staff that have called for the execution of either Clinton or Obama but yet now we're apparently misunderstanding what he meant by "do something".

It's really irritating how Trump and his supporters want to have things every possible way. They want a world where you can say anything that pops into your head without consequences but then get mad when you call them out for it.

Maybe the most bizarre thing to me is the idea that a candidate would call gun owners "second amendment folks," what a weird way to say it. Especially for a republican candidate it sounds so disconnected to the base.

The 2nd amendment is there as a means for the people to rise up against a tyrannical government.

Now, had he said "gun owners" I would assume he meant assassination, but since he said 2nd amendment I am going to assume Trump meant violently revolting against a Hillary lead government.

Not that Hillary would be a tyrannical leader or part of a tyrannical government but given his wording I don't think assassination was his aim.
