I finally found those walking dog-like things from one of the trailers. They're sentinels and they're a fucking bitch to kill. I pissed them off by stealing vortex cubes.

On that note, this moon is a fucking PARADISE. Perfect atmosphere and stacked with gold and vortex cubes. $$$$$$$$

You're kidding? Know what, fuck it, I'm done. Every god damn time it seems I'm getting somewhere this game has screwed me over time and time again. First the DLC ship, then the limitation on atlus stations via black holes and now you're telling me it's screwed me out of the Atlus path yet again? There's way too many progression blocking design decisions and bugs. I think I might be best to drop it and wait for a BIG patch.
 
Does anyone know what happened to that leaker guy daymeuhn or whatever who said he was gonna stream from launch until he hit the center? He obviously burned out or just went ghost, but was there another apologetic "final" reddit post or something that I missed? Just curious lol

Eh, to an extent. But the level of server issues suggests an order of magnitude of underestimation, and not just "we need to spin up another instance" or add more ram for the db. But then again, what else can Sean say. I'm sure it'll get sorted soon enough.

I started back again today after losing all of yesterday's progress - both attempts - and my game is saving today; until it decides it's not going to anymore.

I've noticed that my game just decides occasionally that it won't save. It'll still show as saving on the screen but nothing is happening with the save files when manually checking the timestamped files. It happened three times today.

I've taken to manually checking every few minutes so I don't lose too much in one go again. Restarting the app seems to get it going again. I don't know what's causing it but I find it strange I've not read of anyone else having similar issues.
 
Thanks to everyone who recommend that "melee dash" move. It's made on foot traversal a bit more bearable.

So is it eventually possible to land on a planet with more rare materials available? I've warped like five times already, and I'm still ending up on worlds composed of 99% Iron and Carbon. I can't upgrade a damn thing at this rate.

Seriously. It feels like I'm banging my head against the wall, and the game occasionally decides that "hey, that's enough. Take a break and go into this anomaly. Wait, did you think we were going to give you something to help you make it to the center faster? lol nah."

Holy crap. Extreme Survival planets are a completely different beast.

Going around there on foot is so damn fun.

Temperature changes hot and cold rapidly, storms every few minutes that forces you to travel through networks of shallow caves, sentinels are completely hostile so destroying anything will give your position away, it also means you have to rely on the flower pickups more than anything else.

That place was an absolute blast.

The black holes are. You warp 100,000+ but you only move 1,000. My last one? 500,000 traveled.

Honestly I don't think it's worth our time and I'm strongly debating quitting if the game doesn't make it faster, because we have another 300 hours in front of us at this pace. Unless this is all not rng and is scripted and every now and then it gives us the ok to warp 50k.

I get the feeling it's supposed to feel insurmountable and then something will happen that lets us skip right to the center, but I'm not up for grinding countless hours not knowing how or if an event like that will trigger.

how far into this hellish monotony are you? I remember being 175k, so its definitely doable, I just...don't want to waste my entire end of summer doing this.

Yeah, it is used in honor of the 'Sean lied to us and stole my Milky Ways, ignored our only the most important tweets while barefoot moonwalking across the lack of a buddy system' (being very hyperbolic) thread.

I also learned today, that this is not a game, in fact, maybe half a game, or maybe Star Citizen is more of a game, but still not a game.

It is a dangerous universe out there mates. Stay safe!

I got screwed here too right at the end after being super legit and I will share this because you cannot get more balls after a certain point. But, you can use a item duplication glitch if they haven't patched it. Put the stones you have in your ship inventory, clear out some free slots in there, then fly to a space station. The game will auto save as you get out.

Get back in. Fly out and get killed by a space ship somewhere close to the station. When you come back in the station you'll have an empty ship. Your old gear is out where you died.

Go to options and reload the older save, the one on the bottom I believe. You'll load into the space station but with full ship. Yet, your grave will still be out there with all your stones. Fly out, get them, and you've doubled your stones, or whatever.
 
So; I notice that I can hold R3 to start the destroy/discard process on my Jetpack and Exosuit.... Can they be rebuilt once I do so? And if so, what materials do I need? I'm mainly wondering becuase I'd like to position my jetpack boost next to my actual jetpack, but the only adjacent slots are filled with Life Support and the Exosuit.

Thanks, I think I'll try this method. In future I think I'd rather avoid the Atlas stuff but I don't know if you can still get the Atlas passes then.

160, same as you. I've played for probably 15-20 hours total. I think I'm going to take a break for a few days, do some reading or something.

LOL, "Francis" is just a character that boogie does, that's not really how he is, just watch some of his other videos and you'll see that.
 
so, when I started I chose "explore on my own"

is that a good option? or were the other two options better? I know it's subjective, but I'd like to hear what everyone else did.
