If it's such an objectively hilarious win, then you wouldn't of predicted nearly 2:1 for the PS4 for this month. The only thing that's objectively hilarious, is your own prediction.

The high end PC is what I'm missing at the moment, so the xbone allows me to play the exclusives that I can't play on PS4.

Haha, It doesnt bother me at all and I am merley stating facts by saying that the PS4 is still a Beast and is still the dominant console in the marketplace.
All that comment was trying to do was stop the thread from turning to shit because quite a few posters dont seem to be able to handle the fact that MS won a month and seem to want to downplay, ridicule or justify the fact the Sony didnt win.

You know, it's not the same when PS4 is expensive, no price-cuts and win by 10k, 20k, 30k in June vs. Xbone who had sales during entire July, been cheaper up to 90$ and barely outsold more expensive PS4 by 10k.
I Imagine they'll drop it when Neo comes out. I don't think Sony needs to start dropping prices because Xbox1 caught up a few thousand sales in one country, when they lead by something like 25 million worldwide.

My apologies, I had my own prediction in mind (I pegged the XB1 to win handily) and missed the point of your post entirely lol.
Gold for mental gymnastics in this post. Who says they're proud? That's your own imagination, they're announcing thier console was at the top for July, which is surprising to hear for us as the console is being phased out.
So what if i predicted that much? I clearly said in that prediction that PS4 will win because Xbone S is coming next month. It's called prediction, man. What's the problem with that?

I guess it's only July/August (summer) afterall. Maybe it would have been a different story if it was October/November.
On the other hand It is kinda hilarious in hindsight that most people thought ps4 would win despite the huge sales. I guess the original Xbox one is really an undesirable product in their eyes that a system selling for around 250 with 5 games, an extra controller and a gift card in some cases failed to inspire confidence in people to change their predictions and that too in a slow month for sales.

I'm pretty sure the higher revenue they are making in comparison to what the competition made helps them sleep well enough at night.
Such firesales are not sustainable in the long run (especially if it's only putting you 10k above)

Xbox One S announcement also had an impact on July's sales too (people waiting to purchase the system) so it wasn't as if last month was simply deals.
Do you not see the hypocrisy of your initial post in this thread with the data collected from your prediction? Given your numbers July's results would by definition be a "surprise". Hence this result shouldn't be as terrible as your trying to spin it being given you were proven to be wrong. But it's obvious your not here to speak about numbers.

You literally can't call this objectively hilarious when you predicted the PS4 to have a 90k lead when it was apparently so obvious that the Xbox would of won due to this price cut.
Objectively, how is earning ~$5M-$10M less in revenue, depending on if the price difference was $50-$100 not a hollow victory? (honestly not sure what either Xbox One or PS4 was being sold for throughout the month in the US as I'm foreign.)
That's not even accounting for the difference in number of games being bundled in the US in July. Or it's all about unit sales now and not actually making money? Those July Xbox One bundles can not have been sold for a profit.
Come on. These NPD discussions have always been heavily focused on unit sales.

A hollow victory is when one needs to justify losing. That's all I'm saying.
Objectively it's a win. And a good one for future PS4 buyers. Price matters most it seems.

Fire sales worked ($250?) and the final result looks like April last year. MS will have better sales in August in my opinion.
No surprise 3DS is ignored, Nintendo isn't competing against Sony/Microsoft after all~

But let's not pretend that a 10k sales lead with a $100 price point advantage and crazy Amazon sales is some sort of great victory.
I mean, yea, the XB1 "won" a month. But that's such a context less discussion.
If the August NPD comes out and XB1 only wins by 10k despite slim, is that a cause for celebration? Of course not.
I'm expecting the XB1 to win by a sizeable amount.

You know, a lot of people in here are making a big deal about the low price of the XB1, but the PS4 was the lower priced console for many of it's NPD wins, and I don't recall people using that as the reason for its success.
But of course price is king, you'd be a moron to deny it, but it applies to all products, not just the XB1
