I think it was $249 as they cleared stock of the older version
It went as low as $178 from some sellers
Why is providing perspective and reasons for why the Xbox One leads in terms of sales on the US market this month related to being "salty"? You appear to be salty about the Xbox One needing a significant price slash to be competitive in the market landscape for some reason. Else I don't see why you are so defensive about others pointing this out.

Because we got new sales numbers for the US market, whereas we don't have up-to-date sell-through numbers for other countries or on a global scale.

What's both of your's take on these numbers? Note, the ASP unit price does not reflect bundled games, accessories, giftcards, etc.
I think both companies are in it to make money and one company is doing a hell of a lot better job than the other.

Ehh it's a US NPD thread so the conversation is there, it's the only remotely interesting region for sales discussion in this context. WW, Sony have it all wrapped up right now (except for the UK)

That's exactly my point too. I'm questioning if we're actually seeing XB1 sales getting a sudden boost or if PS4 sales is just unusually low. And if so, why? Great E3, Uncharted 4 is a huge success and they haven't announced Neo yet, why are the sales figures so low?
I liked the idea , their original vision, I've said that countless times. Then again I buy all my games digitally. I don't have one physical game on my ps4 or Xbox 1. If they want to reflip the switch I wouldn't be opposed to it. So yes, to see Microsoft finally having some success to me is a good thing for them and the industry as a whole.
I think there were more hardware driven games in June-July period, namely Batman AK.
Pretty Sure MK X also did a lot of leg work for console sales.
This year has been a little dry since May.

No but they deserve to be outsold most of the year and by a huge margin worldwide. Their bullcrap "let's only release exclusives at the end of the year and make our fans wait up to 7 months for anything unique to our system" is a crapshoot. When their competition is getting as many exclusives in August as they will have the whole holiday season!

Mobile gaming and people finally realizing PC gaming is not just for nerds. I'm sure there are die hard Xbox fans that would never touch a ps4. Of course people's time are limited or maybe they don't like uncharted. Then again a lot of people still have last gen systems. COD up until BLOPS3 still supported last gen, Destiny is only dropping last gen this year. This holiday season will see a big boost for "next gen" sales I would imagine.
Cutting price to clear out old stock with the new model on the way seems like a good move to me.
