For some reason I was expecting something a bit more subdued. Focusing on sneaking and escaping rather than all out war and avatar kung fu.

Looks fun I guess

Jynn ... I'm pretty sure she'll be killed by Vader himself.

Or... she lives.

"You got your plans. I don't want any part in this any more" ... and just leaves. Poof!

Something not Ster Wers?

Only really interested in what Vadder does, myself. I'm glad Hayden Christienson gets to eat this week.

Edwards is such a wonderful visual director. Love his work, seems he's continuing on nicely.

I'm pretty sure this movie will look stunning.

Judging by how close Disney is to the actual process ... I'm positive the acting will be good.

Can you guys imagine if the dialogue was done by Tarantino?

feels off to me, more new action/tv drama feeling than i'd want in my sw

I hope the awful dialogue in this trailer is down to out of context bad editing. The main girl delivers her lines terribly, who talks like that?
that's some of it I guess

I think the direction and cinematography is at least novel. It certainly looks different from the other Star Wars films. Hopefully it's good, I would like to see more directors tackle the universe.

People directed by Garth Edwards. Have you seen Godzilla??? :(

The reshoots were for a lot of the smaller dialogue scenes by the sound of it, with Tony Gilroy helping out.

Those reshoots were originally planned for the spring, but were bumped to mid-summer to allow for extra time as director Gareth Edwards and the creative team decided what they wanted to alter. “The changes have everything to do with clarity and character development and all take place [as inserts] within scenes we’ve already shot,” said one source on the project.

In other words, the changes involve more intimate moments – not redoing entire battle sequences or plot lines. “It’s a lot of talking in cockpits,” as the insider described the new footage.

Hope Riz Ahmed has a decent part. Talented dude.

Oh shit! Its The Night Of dude!

Everytime I look at the cast I get surprised.

I'm imagining Gerath beeing like this on set:

(the limes are the actors)

It's actually quite a revealing trailer. Probably more so than any of the trailers for TFA. It looks like Jedha is destroyed by the Death Star with Baze saying "They destroyed our home", the Death Star appearing over Jedha and you can see Cassian flying the U-Wing out of what looks like the planet collapsing. I'm guessing that all happens relatively early before Chirrut and Baze agree to join Jyn and Cassian and they head to Scarif to nick the plans.
.

Sorry to ask a possible obvious question but are these the " Bothan Spies" or has the been covered already and I missed it? Looks ok, however it confused the hell outta my wife. She said "where is Rey and who the hell are all these people? I said "they're already dead!"

Bothans grabbed the info on the second Death Star, this is for the first. Somehow this team pass the plans to Leia which leads into A New Hope.

The Bothan spies are the ones mentioned in ROTJ for DSII, not DSI.

That's what I thought as well, but ANH clearly shows that planets are destroyed almost instantly. That sequence looks like it could be very interesting, but I am hoping they don't use some 'low powered shot' BS to justify it.

Calling it that this movie ends on Leia's ship and that one or more characters from this film were on it when Vader caught up with it in ANH.

This film looks good!

Well felt like the trailer was half the movie. It was good. But a lot of things didnt make a lot of "Star Wars sense" to me. Like that Samurai type of character... it just doesnt click with "Star Wars".

Anyway cool i guess.

The acting doesn't appear great in the clips, but TFA's acting wasn't great either so ehhhh... Trailer looks fantastic, can't wait to see the movie.

Had my doubts, but I have to admit, it looks awesome.

WTF Vadder, Vadar? It's not like he's a new character guys. Darth Vader. You're just lucky he's not around to sense your incompetence.

TFA's acting was spot on. The characters had great chemistry, they played off of each other's personalities perfectly, and each character felt realised (as much as they could be with such a large cast).

Honestly, the characters and acting and banter between them was my favourite part.

Rogue One looks like it lacks that charm entirely. I love the direction and composition of some of the shots, that Tie Fighter rising from the end of the catwalk for instance, that's a beautifully cinematic action shot...

but the acting feels very amateur, almost every single line delivery in the trailer felt devoid of emotion, like it was read from a page instead of said by a real character.

They nailed the look, but I'm really worried about the characters and script. Hopefully it evens out somehow, or they develop into their roles more as the show goes on.

Looks much better than the earlier trailers. I'm actually kind of excited now. Gareth Edwards still worries me though, I haven't liked a single of his films.

Don't these guys die in their attempt to bring the rebels the death star plans? The fish guys says so I think...in part 3

Nah, that were the Bothans with the plans of the second Death Star, though it seems likely that most or all of the main cast will die simply to contain continuity.

What is this "Uhhhh..."?

Am I allowed to an opinion?

EDIT: just saw your edit. All cool ;)

It is not that I didnt like it in any way. Just that some parts of it looked a bit weird to me. thats all.

It's all good! Sorry mate, I just have terrible reading comprehension.

This is not a good source of comfort.

This 2 minute trailer is not giving the same amount of character interaction and dialog subtlety as a 2 hour movie, this is going to suck!

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, but what's up with Saw Gerrera's hair in this trailer since the teaser? One's shaved and one is crazy fro.
