Normal people buy consoles to play the games they want, to invest in a particular ecosystem, to play with their friends, etc. Fanboys treat consoles like a sports team, as is they're emotionally invested in companies that just want your money.

It is amazing to see how things have come full circle here in the USA.
At the start of the generation the X1 way $100 more than the PS4. Now you can go pick up an Xbone (the old model) for $250 with some games at just about any retailer which is $100 cheaper than the PS4 bundle.
Also, a used xbone sells for $220 at my local gamestop while a used PS4 cost $320.

NPD full report is next Thursday. I thought all data was getting delayed a week because of digital sales. Didn't realise data was still put out on the second Thursday.
With subscriber and public report being split a week, and software charts now meaning jack all shit, it's clear this is to further hide any meaningful data from the public and lessen NPD discussion unless it's PR.

I would call it about as disproportionate as the gap in sales. Any fandom can scream but the one with more people have the loudest voice. PlayStation took this shit by a landslide, there's no way that doesn't translate to a stronger online presence. I agree that all platforms have warriors though, that goes without saying.

Sony has done an amazing job in that aspect. And it's a thin line between respecting your fanbase and pandering but they walk it just fine. For a lot of people PlayStation IS gaming and they deserve it for the work they put in.
