They chose a bad date. Tabata even mentioned before in a talk with Sakaguchi that it would have been great if they had that November date instead of September at the Uncovered reveal.

I'd actually welcome this. Current release date is far too close to the expected release date of the next progression patch in FF14. Plus a delayed game will be better than whatever we're getting in September.

This can only help the game, which so many of you can't wait to shit on over the IQ and framerate issues it would suffer from if it came out before it's done cooking.

While a delay would probably only be good for the game, that doesn't mean we can't ridicule and shame them for their trespasses if it were true.

XV's full development time since starting completely over for next gen and deciding what designs and story elements to carry over from Versus started in 2012. It was re-revealed in the same year as UC4, 2013. The actual development cycle of XV is currently about 3.5-4 years, like Mass Effect.
 
Watching everyone here go apeshit, and some people even taking the chance to keep shitting on the game.

I can't say it hasn't been entertaining.
