Anyone else notice the end of the new world of wonder video they posted today did NOT have the release date at the end? Just had the FFXV logo................

Frankly, if the delay is because of a gameplay or structure related reason, then I'd rather they delay it half a year than just 2 months.
 
This game was first shown ten years ago. Before the PS3 came out. At the same conference where Kaz Hirai announced $599. The same conference as "Riiiiiiidge Racer!" The same conference as giant enemy crab.

I'm still wrapping my head around that.

Like people here have said I don't know how much two months would change,

They might as well give it The Witcher 3 treatment and patch it up over the months instead of disappointing a lot of us with the release date change.

The last time I remember him teasing us about something bad being announced, it was the day before they revealed Nomura was kicked off the project, lol.
 
I've waited so long for this game I'm sure another two months won't kill me, plus since school will be ramping down at the end of November, I'll have a lot more time to play. And hopefully there are Neo updates if it comes out this fall.

But November also has lots of others huge games and 29th will also means miss the Black Friday.

I'm surprised people still think there's any chance of this, after E3. What we're seeing is what we're getting for better or worse.
 
i think bad date kingdom hearts 2.8 comes out in december plus nomura supre have kh 3 annocments as well at the same time as 2.8

It's not good news for Gravity Rush 2 though!
 
Cancelled my preorder after seeing that DLC video smh. Fuck outta here. "Buy DLC to get stronger weapons to make fights easier, but DLC to play as the other party members". I'm good.

Two months of extra time for polish and optimization can make a huge difference, actually.

Because that's not a trailer... That's just footage from the game. It doesn't have the usual credits at the end either.
 
I can't believe I'm saying this... but I hope it's true only for the game to be Neo ready at launch.

If weren't for Neo's mode... I would be crying now tears of anger.

They could now start doing that from November 30th onwards instead of September!

I'm fine with the delay. I wouldn't even mind an early 2017 release like Mass Effect, though they probably wouldn't want to go up against Mass Effect.

I really do not like comments like this. Which massive JRPG's? Persona 5? Wait a minute that comes out next year, in English. There are no other games I was interested in except this.

Anyway, I have a feeling it's been delayed. Not happy at all.

I mean, why would you want better weapons to make fights easier? It's not a lot different than offering DLC with better things to people that may not care about the challenge per se. And the game was designed around only controlling Noctis. That extra stuff is... extra stuff.
 
You can take Jason's word to the bank going off by my time here on Gaf. I guess I'll expect the confirmation of the delay sometime next week.. Smh I'll be at Times Square for the premiere of Kingsgliave.

If one wants a 'living' example of this, the episode approach to HITMAN confirms as much.

Earlier episodes of the game simply perform better today than at launch.

Dragon Quest VII and Trails of Cold Steel II, both of which should be very much of interest to anyone who likes JRPGs. Plus Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse if you want more of a dungeon-crawler.
 
Just a little longer guys. We're almost at the finish line! This bodes well for me personally. With Rise of Iron out in September, I'll be good until Final Fantasy XV drops.
Plus, maybe they'll announce a PS4 Neo bunduru at the PS Metting coming up in September.

Just going to assume that I'm not going to be playing this next month.
 
Hmm, how far in advance of release does a game typically go Gold? Like if the 11/29 date is true, when would we expect them to start getting the discs all ready or what have you?

To be clear, I'm not confirming the delay. I've only heard confirmation from a secondhand source and that's not enough for me to say definitively that it's true, which is why it's not on Kotaku yet. I just believe it's true and I also think it'd be very good news for anyone who wants this to be a great game.
 
They made this huge deal about the date, had the whole conference, showed this huge date on screen.

Then they delay it. That would be embarrassing. But you do what you gotta do.

This should also remind people that FFXV is not a PS4 exclusive game. See, there's the Xbox One logo too? ;) So all the "It's because of the Neo" talk is stupid. They wouldn't delay a multi platform game (and one that had it's release date announced on the biggest release day announcement event ever) just for the Neo patch. Also, how many would even play FFXV on Neo compared to the other consoles? Like 3-5% Even that sounds very optimistic.

Having said that...that rumor could still be true...but I hope not. :(
