Yeah, Cid seems much more appropriate. The younger Noctis currently looks like Cid's son. The older Noctis looks like Regis' son.

Nomura's imput for Lightning Returns always seemed like recycled Versus material. The new outfits for Lightning (Aranea) and Snow (Imsomnia), Lumina (Iris), etc. When we got the first glimpse at Lightning's new outfit for this game, the first thing I thought is that she was wearing the dragoon lady armor from the Versus trailers.

I love these two. The guy with the hat is not bad, either. He looks like an FF character. The playable characters are by far the worst designs, sadly.

At least now they do wear different clothing, most of which actually looks like regular outfits that you and I could wear and go outside without making people think we're cosplaying. Certainly better than the initial fashion designer, all black attire that all four of them wears.

Speaking of Lightning Returns: I swear that the chandelier that gets crystallized during that game's opening sequence is one of the chandeliers that were laying around in the Lucian Citadel in the Versus XIII trailer from 2011.

Gentiana's design from that render is quite bland I agree, but I would take bland and boring over the mess that Aranea wears. It's supposed to be a protective armor yet the boob window is there, when armors are supposed to protect your chest first and foremost, and the gratuitous sideboob and tummy open area for why?? Fuck making practical and useful armor, eye candies are more important apparently.
