Not familiar with Metal Gear, but are wormholes and alternate dimensions a thing in that series or is this super random?

Worm holes were part of MGS V, no idea about alternate dimensions.

30 Euro? Will probably be 29.99 everywhere then. If Konami is smart, there'll be a 99 buck 4-Pack, and a 10% pre-order discount. That'll be a pretty sweet price point for friends looking to jump in for some fun and dumb MGSV inspired co-op action.
Yeah, I think it might be cool to jump in with some people since they probably kept the V mechanics.

I see why people are upset, but it could be a lot worse, unless this ends up being Umbrella Corp all over again.

yo any of you guys actually play metal gear or nah

Yes. Played the games where they didn't go into another dimension because of a giant world devouring wormhole...

Wormholes were in V but never in the context of a plot device. They never brought you a land full of undead zombies.

Most shit that's totally unrealistic was actually justified, this is just an outrageous stretch of the imagination to justify making some garbage co-op zombie game.

I thought this was a joke when I saw it on Twitter. I'm... surpised to say the least, I can't be angry I'm done being angry about Konami and MGS I'm just bafled at where they decided to go with this series. This reeks of higher ups just seeing how much money Call of duty does and how popular Zombies is and trying to make their verison of it and the only reaosn they are even using MGS for it is because its cheaper to reuse assets from that then actually make something new.

I'll wait for gameplay to confirm but it seems like this might end up being just as bad as the Resident Evil co-op game that came out recently.

Set directly after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Survive sees the members of Militaires Sans Frontières not killed in that game’s finale transported through wormholes into an alternate universe, where they’re forced to battle a force of crystalline zombies and, it seems, at least one Metal Gear itself.

Honestly.. this sounds like a Sharknado of the video games.

Sounds like a manga synopsis. "..suddenly one day xyz is transported to an alternate world where weird things start to happen."

Imagine this was made by kojima you probably praise him. Dont forget that Kojima wanted to make an action zombie game that features grey fox.

I mean, yeah, Metal Gear Solid 4 Dead is admittedly NOT the route I was expecting, nor do I welcome it.

You talking about Operations Raccoon city?

It was a bad RE game but it was a alright shooter if you removed the RE franchise association.

Maybe this was an IP they had cooking for quite some time? Maybe they started it during the zombie craze? Then they decided to slap the Metal Gear name on it in order to further irritate the customer base?

Wait...no...they slapped the Metal Gear name on it in order to encourage people to buy it. That's more like it!

This seems like maybe it would have originally been the "LOL goofy Halloween DLC" for MGSV but they took 2 years to make it after everyone left.

Is it a complete online experience (sort of like an expansion to MGO3) or does it have a single player/co-op element? The trailer seems to hint that there's some sort of story for the game.

Ahh as a 30 dollar bizzare ass spin off it doesn't seem that bad, might be cool if it's good and will be entirely forgettable if not, either way it's not that big of a deal, but best of all it doesn't meddle with established Metal Gear Canon so \_(ツ)_/

Comparing it to a giant wormhole in the sky that sucks you into an alternate dimension where you fight horned zombies is somewhat on par? Okay.
sure why not, it's not any worse than psychic kids who manifest flaming dead guys who get taken down by water guns and control giant robots

What the fuck?

If they were gonna make more Metal Gear, why wouldn't they just give everyone what they want and finish MGSV's story? They'd have gotten away with another 'GZ' standalone release for that easily. We already know CH3 was all written and well into production so I'd have to imagine it wouldn't take as much work as... whatever the fuck this is :/

Who's developing this?

The frustrating reality of this game is that if the gameplay loop is any good whatsoever, it will be the best entry in the genre. Entirely on the back of the MGS V engine, whose creators were downright abused in its creation.
