I don't think there's any solid rumor about it at this point.

It's more speculation based on these elements:
1)Rockstar/Take Two confirming that they have new game announcements to make soon.
2)RDR announcement rumored by multiple sources to have slipped at the last minute from the last Sony E3 conference.
3)Playstation Meeting is usually the biggest venue for Playstation related announcements, they usually announce both new consoles and big games during these conferences.
It would benefit both Sony and Rockstar to announce the game during such event, even if the game is multiplatform.

So the chance is there, if it actually happens who knows.

I agree with Elios. The speculation is pretty strong, yet there aren't even any solid rumors about a new Red Dead sequel.

Rockstar has a license to do whatever they want, whenever they want.

All they gotta do is just announce Bloodborne 1080P 60fps and walk away. I and most people I know will be there day one for that shit alone.

IIRC developers can only make Neo-enhanced games after a certain date or go back and patch them. I really can't see from reworking a game that's over a year old already that works fine on PS4 and subsequently NEO.

If there is one single game that needs an exception to this, it's Bloodborne. IF I was Sony, I'd send a fleet of the best engineers/tech wizards I have on hand to make this happen because it pretty much guarantees the hardcore jump to Neo day one. And that alone is worth the extra work/rework imo.

BB won't ever be 60FPS. Call me a spoilsport if you like, but its the reality of the situation

Great news. Starting sept 7th, used market ps4 price will start to drop. This of course depends on how far Neo is.

I think GTA V story mode will get Neo enhancement patch with significantly improved lighting, textures, higher pedestrian & traffic density, at a more stable 30fps.

Am I the only one wondering what they can do with InFamous Second Son?

Maybe 60fps and more particle effects ? :P

LOL

I saw a bit of his video, it's extremely obvious he's not keeping up with the news/details surrounding these consoles. The predictions he made were based entirely around Sony not showing the Neo at E3, and him thinking the Neo's purpose is for VR (even said he wouldn't be surprised if it was $600-700 because Sony needs to compete with Occulus).

I love the guy, but really on this matter, nobody should be paying attention to his prediction.

The facts that the leaked dev documentation suggests the final spec dev kits were going to be sent out in April-May. That mass produced model will be available before the start of 2017. Andrew House saying that he was surprised at Scorpio's really early reveal, and that he thinks the Apple style, reveal and release (instant gratification) model is how tech releases should be now. And the official reveal event taking place on September 7th. I think it's guaranteed to release this year.

The latest Pachter Factor is recorded weeks before it winds up on YouTube.

I would like to see it in action but newer games are much more interesting to me than a game I played to death in 2015.

That's fine, so the only thing in my post that wasn't a known factor was the september 7th reveal event.

Anyways, I honestly don't expect him to keep up with dev document leaks or comments that sony executives make, and my point still stands. That people should not really be paying attention to the prediction he gave on this matter, especially at this time due to all the things we know about surrounding this console.

This is false. Any developer can go back and patch any game that has been released on PS4 for Neo support if they choose to do so. Obviously most won't bother, but there are no rules mentioned/rumored that would not allow it.

For those laughing about transfering PT... Just backup your HDD to an external HDD and you'll be good to restore it.

I sure hope RDR3 is announced but I seriously doubt it will be. Imagine if they announce both versions at once and they use RDR3 to show off the potential graphical updates that Neo will bring.

I do think there is a good chance many first party titles get Neo patches. Gotta give people reason to upgrade or buy the games if they like the added benefit.

Again, if Destiny doesn't go 60fps for whatever reason, I will be bummed. Its my chill game.

I do wonder how reveals are going to happen going forward for Sony once the Neo is revealed. Are they going to show both versions or just put an asterisk at the start of a video (or end) to show that it's the Neo version?

I know, I have often wondered this. It'd be a snide on PS4 owners but then Neo owners would complain. It's a tricky situation.

Im honestly looking forward to GOW4 running on this kit. Ill cross my fingers for an uncharted 4 patch, thats why I'm holding off on another full play through.

I guess the latter, they'll just specify:
"Footage taken from ... "
either at the beginning or at end of trailers.

All you have to do to transfer any game including PT is a do a backup to an external drive and restore it to your new PS4 and/or hard drive. This is not a new feature for 4.00. It has been around for like 2 years...

But we are not sure if the Neo will be able to play P.T.

Same here. Was just about to pop it in and start another play through but I'll wait in case they do end up patching it for the Neo.

So, what's everyone's predictions in regards to the release date, price and if the base PS4 will see a price reduction?

I'm predicting that the console releases on Tuesday September 27th with the 500GB model selling for $400. Predicting a 2TB GT Sport (digital) bundle for $500 on November 15th. The base PS4 will see a price drop to $300 for the 500GB model.

While im not sure if it's possible or not but if it is, I wouldn't be surprised to see Neo also be a Slim PS4 which would allow Sony to only have two consoles on the market (base PS4 and Neo Slim PS4) as opposed to three consoles on the market (base PS4, Slim PS4 and Neo PS4).

Damiani mentioned something about a slight possibility about a Vita revision being announced on the last EZA Podcast so I know it won't happen but I kinda hope haha.

The ideal scenario:

- After a montage of some developers and Sony executives explaining the concept of PS4K, they show the new console in the stage and confirm the specs. New DualShock 4, sleeker design, new logo, official name is PS4K;

- Gaming time: begins with Uncharted 4 Single Player DLC trailer, running on PS4K at 1080p/60fps (the full game will be patched, more bells and whistles but 60fps is the focus);

- Then Sony show footage of some already released games that will also receive the "Neo treatment": Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Destiny , GTA V, Battlefront, No Man's Sky, etc;

- Final Fantasy XV new trailer running on PS4K;

- Horizon Zero Dawn new gameplay footage running on PS4K;

- Gran Turismo Sports new trailer and gameplay footage running on PS4K;

- Resident Evil 7 PSVR footage running on PS4K;

- Detroit new gameplay footage running on PS4K;

- Days Gone new gameplay footage running on PS4K;

- Spider Man PS4 first gameplay demo running on PS4K;

- God of War new trailer running on PS4K;

- NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS TIME:

. Deep Down re-announced with a new trailer and gameplay footage running on PS4K

. New Read Dead announced with a trailer running on PS4K

. Sucker's Punch new IP announced with a trailer running on PS4K

. Demon's Souls Remastered announced, 4K/60fps on PS4K

. Rockeasteady's new game announced with a trailer running on PS4K

- PS4K will be released in November, starting at $399

- OG PS4 pricecut to $249

- See you at PlayStation Experience 2016 in December!

Do you mean you expect all of those SKUs? Don't get your hopes up. It'll be one. And I imagine it will be 1TB.

No, I don't expect all those SKUs, but would expect 1 or 2 with those, at about those prices and amount of HDD capacity.

Ideally, $399 Neo 1TB would be killer.

This would be fucking awesome, but this would damn near be an E3 level conference haha. That said I do hope we see some newer games running on this thing.

Well, they are announcing a new hardware after all. It is in their best interest to hype people up. What is better than games to do that?
