My LG G4 just died

My brother had this issue a few months ago. He was still under warranty so he got a replacement from LG.

Unfortunately, I'm having a horrendous time with my Samsung Note 4 that is out of warranty. The onboard flash memory is crapping out and the phone constantly reboots. Apparently it's a major problem for Note 4 users after about a year of owning the phone.

Call me crazy, but I like to think it's planned obsolescence.

You shouldn't have updated the phone from 4.4.4

That was what killed your phone

I got stuck with that boot loop with my LG G3. Pretty scary, but it fixed itself when I put in a new battery for some reason.

Yeah, the G3s have a battery issue. Basically, the battery fries itself (constantly gets hot) and won't hold a charge anymore. But the phone thinks it has 15% left in it. So it boots up, and then shuts off. I realized my battery was fucked up when it would jump percentages all the time up and down. Any time you see inconsistent battery life percentage, get a new battery.

In the G3, fortunately, you can at least keep the phone booted up by keeping it on the charger.

Have a LG Fino but I'm really unhappy with its 4 GB storage which is just not enough storage even with an external microSD. I thought about buying the LG G4 which isn't as expensive as the newest generation of smartphones but not I'm not sthat sure after reating this topic...

No, you absolutely shouldn't. Looking online this issue seems to be widespread, at least with phones manufactured before last September, and the only fix for it seems to involve downgrading the phone to Lollipop which will lose all your data.

I will never ever but another LG phone after this. And I have no phone this weekend since BestBuy scheduled delivery of my Note 7 for Monday and UPS refuses to release it early to me even though it's been right down the street at their office since this morning. What a shitshow of a day I'm having -_-, 1st world problems and all that.

Had to replace my G4 back in April because of the bootloop. Replaced it with another G4. Its a great phone but unfortunately that bootloop is a huge issue.

My G2 just died last night. It froze for about 10 seconds while watching YouTube, then shut itself off. I haven't been able to turn it back on or charge it since. Any tips?

I know I'll never buy another LG phone again. I've had the worst possible luck with this thing even though I've been babying it since I got it.

and apparently it's a common fatal flaw. What the FUCK, LG?

According to the internet, this is a problem with the G4 motherboard that's been around since its debut. The phone randomly crashes and then gets stuck in a boot-loop from which there is no escape. I've been able to get it to boot to the home screen twice now but then it immediately restarts again seconds later. There is no fix and LG has not officially acknowledged what the issue is with the phone. It looks like people are able to get their phones replaced so that's good but this grinds my gears something fierce. I've only had this phone for about 6 months and was liking up to now. I'm hoping I can swap it for something else because I don't want to deal with this shit again.

I was curious if there were any other G4 users who on gaf who have had this same problem and if Verizon was cooperative in getting it replaced. I also wanted to get the word out because this is a pretty shitty design flaw that I wasn't aware of whatsoever when I bought this phone turned paper weight.

its common, and a known issue. Send the phone in for repair, they'll correct it. I had one of these on one of my other lines with sprint, no issues since replacement.
