Sierra classics up on Steam

Quest For Glory 3 was my game one summer. i just loved the atmosphere so much.

the game came with a hilarious instructional booklet that was a fake adventurer's manual. used to bring it to school and read it in the back of class.

Does the Steam release of Gabriel Knight 3 have the same bug from the GoG release where if you don't actually have an optical drive in your computer it won't let you past a "Please insert CD1" prompt?

Quest for Glory, Shadows of Darkness. Is the best game of life.

That game scared the living daylights out of me as a 11 year old. Talk about getting the setting and aesthetic down pat. To this day I am wary of any octopus hanging above fireplaces/entrance ways.

Which QFG 1 is included, is the original or the remake with point and click, unless they include both?

I think someone remade QFG2 a few years ago no?

Phantasmagoria blew my fucking mind when I was a kid. Still does to this day. That game had no right to exist at that time. Roberta da true goddess.

QFG 1= Both

AGD Interactive made the QFG 2 remake.

Installing it right now. I actually don't have an optical drive plugged in right now, and bought the Steam version, will report back in a few minutes with results.

Damn right. At the time me and my friends believed Zoltan was real and the stuff the game showed was what he did in the past. Looking back, those were good times.

Even the game CASE was something not of this world. At least here in Brazil. My cousin bought it, and I saw it on her desk, that huge demonic thing with tons of disks in it. Couldnt believe.

Holy shit, QFG collection? Does QFG4 work with one click? Because I always found it buggy as hell to get it working on newer machines.

Instabought either way!

Gabriel Knight 3 seems to have a launching error, not sure if it's related to the optical drive but it doesn't seem like the bug described above or from me googling it.

Basically, I launch the game and get to the Sierra Launcher. I then click play game, and then it either does one of the following things:
-I leave it open and it does nothing.
-I leave it open and it tells me the application is already running (but there's nothing in my processes outside of the Sierra Launcher)
-Steam tries to launch the Sierra Launcher again and then tells me it failed as the app is already running.
-I close it before it loads, and it seems to confirm my theory as when the process of Sierra Launcher is not running, it will launch another Sierra Launcher.

It almost seems like the launcher is trying to launch the launcher, from what I can tell.

It could just be the same bug because of my lack of optical drive, or different. I installed the first Gabriel Knight to see if it was the launcher in general, but it ran with no problems.

The Sierra animation in the OP is killing me. That and the LucasArts logo... two emblems of quality from my childhood. You saw that thing pop up, you knew magic was just ahead.

They need to release a VR version where you are sitting at a desk playing... So we can get the feels of having to swap the disks in!

The Phantasmagoria games are some of the best worst games.

they are the Tommy Wiseau of gaming!

I bought it used and it just came in a small, black generic cd case that held all the discs. I did have the game guide and remember it showing the demonic thing. My memory is fuzzy, but the guide had more back story on Zoltan and the demon.

I have most of these already on GOG but wouldn't be against buying these in a sale... Or if the Police Quest collection has the original version (EGA?) of the first game.

EVERYONE get Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers (GK1), it's one of the top 5, best video games EVER MADE. Quest for Glory collection is hot fire too, especially 2 and 4.

My favorite Sierra game is Kings Quest 5. I wonder if that's available anywhere?

Pretty sure there was a King's Quest collection released on Steam. Lemme check.
Yeah, it's on steam... and I apparently own it? I don't remember buying this.

Just booted it up and King's Quest 5 is in it. I'm going to assume it's on GoG too.
