I think we're looking at $250-$300 for the Slim and $400-$450 for Neo.
people are reeeeeally hung up on that word "premium"

Will this presentation be only about the hardware? Or have they confirmed games will have some showing there as well.
What makes it more premium than the original PS4 at launch though? I don't get all this premium talk. Is it made out of gold or something?
Edit: $499 will piss people off, myself included. Just sayin'.

What?Pissed off enough to sell your PS4 and jump to PC tho?
Neo probably isn't for you, if you're more concerned with saving $100 over a good bump in spec.

Do we have a real idea of how much powerfull will be Neo than current PS4?
What?
needs to be $599 and heavy as fuck or I'm not buying
2x more powerful.
Check from this morning. 3 prong power plug is in, suggesting a bigger PSU.
10lbs, 3cm taller, bigger PSU (maybe rated 350-400?). It all adds up
what are you even talking about?I just find it funny, people who want Neo, but at the same time don't really care what the actual spec is. It's like you want to buy it more for the sake of not being left behind (or obsolete, right?) than real interest in added performance and better visuals.
The Neo better be over 4.2 tf. I don't mind paying an extra 100 bucks for the power increase. It has to last us until PS5. If people don't like the price, stick with OG PS4. It's still a good console.
So what DBZ character do you think Neo will be in terms of power if PS4 is Goku super saiyan 1?
what are you even talking about?
One thing that confuses me. Why do people think size and three prongs of the power cable indicate more power then 4.2tf?
Why can't a 4.2 TF console in 2016 be this size and so on?
What I don't like about all this is that it's unnecessary. The PS4 is doing fucking GREAT! Why fuck up a generation when the concept is working just fine, and has been for ages?I just find it funny, people who want Neo, but at the same time don't really care what the actual spec is. $499 too expensive will pissed people off make it cheaper; $399 too cheap must be weak AF make it more powerful, I'll pay more.
There is nothing in the box that will make it much stronger for 499 or 449 over 399.
How come? There is nothing in the box that will make it much stronger for 499 or 449 over 399.
Because the leaked specs for 4.2 TF and the performance of less power for the similar AMD card is the same, but the higher performance for the same card requires more power? One thing that confuses me. Why do people think size and three prongs of the power cable indicate more power then 4.2tf?

Because any time SONY has something good going for them, they get cocky and fuck shit up.
Because why have one upgrade every 5-6 years when you can make bank through Apple-style incremental upgrades every year or two? What I don't like about all this is that it's unnecessary. Do the latest rumours/leaks suggest an internal or external power brick?

Just because I'll get pissed at a $499 price doesn't mean I won't buy it. Maybe I'm thinking about other original PS4 owners who perhaps are studying, or kids whose parents can't afford it? The whole situation is unique, and I don't like it, but I do like tech and I'm a sucker for graphics so therefore I WILL likely buy a NEO, but I'd rather have them cancel the NEO and announce PS5 in 2019.
Why would I go to PC all of a sudden though?
Because why have one upgrade every 5-6 years when you can make bank through Apple-style incremental upgrades every year or two?
What these companies don't realize, of course, is that a video game console in 2016 is a premium product as it is. A phone isn't.
I can't wait for this to crash and burn spectacularly.
I believe upping the CPU was the reason it'd be more than $399, but also means they can conversely up the GPU without incurring much cost or bottleneck (especially with improvements to memory / bus / etc.) However this was back in March or so? Many things could have changed between then and now that we will not know about until the 7th and beyond. How about keep the GPU at 4.2 TF, just up the CPU a bit more to 2.4 GHz and call it a day at $399.

Or maybe because we have 6 TF+ videocards with TDP of 150? I think it's more the size / weight of the console than the power cable itself, though.

an entire week left. ughI feel like I live a happier life not having to retread the same arguments about the NEO over and over without any concrete information or marketing from Sony. Just hang in there another week guys.
I think letting discussion of gaming hardware (especially an iteration of existing platform) should never impact your happiness. If that's really the case, you're probably better off spending your time in different activities until the 7thI feel like I live a happier life not having to retread the same arguments about the NEO over and over without any concrete information or marketing from Sony. Just hang in there another week guys.
Pretty much every CE, mobile, computing device, TV, car, shoe, etc, has the concept of model tiers though. This shouldn't make people upset, they'll do what naturally comes to them and buy what they can afford. It's a new thing for consoles but I think we'll adapt quickly.
The PC thing is kind of a joke. When Neo was first rumored, there were a lot of people saying fuck this, I'm jumping to PC. Just more irrational thinking.
Yeah, it's as if they lack confidence for no reason.Because why have one upgrade every 5-6 years when you can make bank through Apple-style incremental upgrades every year or two?

You don't know that. Do you work at Sony?
How come?

I would agree if they were updating every year like a phone, but an upgrade every 3 yrs or so isn't bad.
So you don't actually get what you're saying, eh? We don't know what has changed since initial leak at beginning of year, and your metric for price increase makes no sense. Me personally spending $50 or $100 on a better videocard or more RAM will absolutely result in better performance.Based on the components we know are in there guys, why is it so hard for you guys to actually understand this?
Upclocking some parts that don't even scale linearly in a computational sense this close to launch is not going to justify 50 or 100 extra bucks when its essentially pointless for the rest of the unit and what the system is designed for
I'm just not fond of the precedent it creates. If Neo is a success, then this busts open the doors for more nonsense like exclusive software and core features for future "mid-generation" hardware.I would agree if they were updating every year like a phone, but an upgrade every 3 yrs or so isn't bad.
Yeah, it's as if they lack confidence for no reason.
