Wait is the leak about Neo or was it the Slim review?
At this point I prefer to get the full message straight from Sony.
It's useless to discuss about incomplete and maybe not 100% accurate infos that could create confusion.

I think Sony officially announcing the event with a tease would calm people (or GAF) down a lot? Maybe...

Umm.. Depending on what the tease was, maybe. I don't think there is calming down this hype train with a tease though. My guess is that it would just increase speculation about everything.. And, I don't know how much more it could possibly increase as is.

*shrug* I feel quite calm TBH.

This thread calmed me down admirably. I don't want a Neo anytime soon now. Still wanna know the price to make plans for a purchase some time next year, of course, but compared to the state I was in after selling my OG PS4, this is nothing.

Is this the latest drawing from that Chinese forum A9VG?

Why did you sell your OG PS4? Was it a launch PS4? I had to trade mine in as the eject sensor issue was getting worse and wose, my new one is great.

No interest in Neo outside of how they market it and how games are going to be going forward.

It's ok. There a few mockup a couple of pages back as well. :) it's kinda growing on me but I still feel like it's a bit weird looking.

What strikes me is that it doesn't look as box like as the Foxconn worker seems to suggest.

Edit: to me, looks like a slanty PS2.

Maybe the spaces are thinner?

That mockup is based on his description and drawings. He also clarified a few things like disc drive placement and LED bar placement etc.

It was manufactured in February 2014 according to the sticker on the back. So, close to launch, model 1001a. It had no issues. I simply sold it because I was afraid of huge dips in prices after the Slim/Neo announcement on September 7th. Was planning to buy a Neo as soon as available.

Could go either way. Overall, I think this mock up makes sense since I think the plates above and below the spaces look rounded like the slim. But, it is strange.. In one comment about the finish, the Foxconn worker supposedly said think of OG PS4. Then, you have the recent supposed comment from him saying to kind of forget that kind of finish... I think that what was said. Not sure. Odd.

What makes it more premium than the original PS4 at launch though? I don't get all this premium talk. Is it made out of gold or something?

Edit: $499 will piss people off, myself included. Just sayin'.

Like how people got pissed off at the PS3's $599 and XB1's $499, and both of those still sold +5 million before their first price cut?

A $100 price difference is basically the difference between the lowest HDD model and the highest. Sony want Neo and Slim to get two completely different markets, and the easiest way to do this is by making the price points far apart from each other. Only the dedicated hardcore/enthusiast will be buying Neo while everyone else buys the Slim. Neo has no competition until Scorpio launches, so Sony can price Neo very high for now and can wait to drop the price in Fall 2017 if either Scorpio is cheaper or it isn't meeting their expectations.

Is there anymore info on the specs floating around? I don't really care that much about how it looks. Mine will be hidden behind a TV.
