I'm going to trade my ps 4 tonight. I am afraid they will decrease the trade in value on the seventh when they announce the slim version

Apropos Destiny. 60fps and FOV boost please.Smart move. I got $350 for my Destiny PS4 two weeks ago. Cash money going straight to Neo.

Anyone knows what that is? I know that PSX was an upgraded version of PS2.
But that thing in the picture looks more like a photo of a presentation? Will PS4 Neo be a "PSX", too?
(Sorry if it already got posted).

If that happens, it'll be a product of dropping last-gen support, not of Neo. Neo and standard PS4 will share servers, so any frame rate Neo does, standard PS4 will need to be capable of, as well.

I agree. #Teamfake.
If my multinational company which happens to also be a Japanese company is anything to go by, all printed marketing has specific guidelines by which all spacing, fonts, logos, ... Etc. are ruled by and must comply with those guidelines. My company even states spacing. You would never see random poop all over the place like that.
People playing at different fps all the time on PC. But eh, won't happen then, but I think Destiny would run at least 40+ fps on OG PS4 if you unlocked the frame rate.
I am hoping we get a choice if it's not to much work .
You can choose higher res or frame rate .
Of course this will depend on the game.
Neo has a lot of horsepower that will go unused outside of PSVR since it won't have exclusive games. What else could be possible? PS3 BC/Emulation?

CPU and GPU don't work like that. Game design itself is usually targeted for framerate on console, so you can't just swap framerate for graphics or whatever. Res is also not dependent on CPU, but GPU resources and bandwidth.

I think a lot of people are assuming we're more likely to see higher resolutions than higher framerates. Time will tell.
Also, there sure are a hell of a lot of Spiderman avatars...
That would be the nightmare scenario for me personally. I hope Neo will finally be a 60 fps console, what's the point for 4K gaming if it's 30 fps?
Just imagine playing a game like GTA V, Fallout 4 or Witcher 3 with a stable 60 fps... (But still, I doubt even that would be possible seeing the rumors about the CPU.) .
That's not what they are doing or what they said they are going to do.
The NEO will have patched games that have extra effects or added resolution.
So the extra GPU power won't go to waste.
No exclusive games yes, but versions of games with better graphics.
That..doesn't make much sense. Even just rendering PS4 games will use the NEO's horsepower to enhance the graphical and resolution presets as well as stabilize the CPU.
well; it kinda does work like that, just look at PC games and the extra options they usually have. It's technically very possible to give the user a bunch of options in which they prioritise certain settings; the fact that we don't see that often (..or at all) on consoles has probably more to do with policies enforced by the platform owner and/or publishers.

PC have graphical and framerate options specifically because PC as a platform is modular.
Modular hardware essentially means that you can have literally any kind of RAM, CPU and GPU combination one can think of inside of it, far higher than the consoles or far lower, and such graphical sliders and framerate options make sense to allow the user to tailor base their experience to their specific set up.
NEO and PS4 are still two locked down closed boxes with only 2 hardware settings. Even though NEO is stronger than PS4, it is only marginally so, and nowhere near enough to give the kinds of gains that your expecting to tone down to gain enough CPU power to double framerate
In other words, we're just as likely to be able to turn down graphics for framerate on PS4 as you are on the NEO.
Seriously. Give us something! We're all waiting veryCome on Sony, give us a YouTube teaser for the PlayStation Meeting with close-ups of the Neo flashing by. You know you want to!

I understand Sony can market a 4K gaming console more easily than a 60 fps console, but people buying the Neo will be the hardcore gamers. I would think those gamers would prefer a better framerate.
They're called style guides, and most companies with a marketing team have one. Ours extends to font types used in emails, email signatures, specific Wre templates for use with different document types (internal/external)...they're very important for consistent branding.
This image has none of the design discipline typical of Sony products. Way too many randomly placed pieces of text, PS symbols in the wrong order & so on.

Go on PC. People are playing people at 120fps vs 30.
Really don't think it matters. It's just about smoothness.
CPU is not the only thing that decide frame rate .
Neo is going to be 2.3 times strong that OG PS.
That is more than enough power to double the frame rate if the game not cpu bound .
There are things possible with that power that wouldn't be able to scale down to vanilla PS4s, though. It's not like the devs are going to be able to recreate entire scenes and parts of the game and whatnot.
I am not disputing that. I am referring to the fact that there are probably other reasons why we don't see "graphical options" (using the term broadly here) on consoles. I can only think of a handful of consolegames who provide resolution/framerate choices.
If the game is GPU bound, you will see gains yes, but there are hardly any games that literally use only like 10% of their CPU resources, yet use 100% of their GPU resources, to the point where increasing the GPU is going to give such a drastic imbalance of FPS.
At most, we will see GPU bound scenarios on NEO pull ahead of PS4, and in addition to the CPU upclock, give a better all around experience. Does that equate to 60fps in certain situations? Its possible, but definitely is not going to be the common outcome

As someone with a high powered PC and a 4k TV, I'll gladly take a 4k console. 4k increases the image quality by a huge margin. I'll gladly play a 30fps console game at 4k.
Answer me this what reason you think DC is not 60fps on PS4 , Infamous SS or UC4 ?
If it a cpu problem i don't see them getting to 60fps , if it was a gpu one they should be able to .
Of course this also depending if they have enough bandwidth .

DC, Infamous SS, and UC4 are not 60fps because the developers chose to target a lower frame rate in order to achieve the level of graphic quality they desired for their game.
If they felt 60fps was important enough for gameplay and the feel of their game, they would have scaled back graphics in order to hit that target
I understand your reasoning, most console players seems fine with 30fps, but a 60 fps console would make me go back to consoles from PC.
Imagine if Sony would mandate it to developers like they do with PSVR... They would get all my money![]()

Sony only mandates that for VR because anything below 60fps will make you physically sick and probably vomit out what you had for breakfast, and they don't want any lawsuits.
