Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

Whoa! What was that yellow chain rune thing that influences direction? I think I missed that before.

Stasis?

You freeze an object, hit it to build potential energy, and once it unfreezes, it converts to kinetic energy and the objects shoots away.

The arrow is the direction the object will be launched at.

*edit*
Crap, didn't notice there was another page explaining it already.

So what's left for them to show off? We've seen Koroks, Weapons and Bows, a Shrine, Runes, a bit of Cooking and cutting down trees, and the Temple of Time.

So I guess they could do a small video on Guardians, variety of plants/herbs/etc or hunting/fishing, bosses, more shrines, and maybe resurrection towers.

Focus on the puddles of water, or how the same flock of birds in the same formation fly across the sky every few minutes, or how nightime is not 'scary' dark.

Nicely played. Seeing how switching items takes you out of the action, even when played by someone very familiar with the game, I'm hoping for those scroll wheels more than ever.

But this is the quickest you have ever switched items in a Zelda game. What more do you want?

No it's not. Skyward Sword had item swapping in real time. Having the game pausing every time I want to change my arrows is tedious.

Don't get me wrong, which I think you already have, I don't think the current setup is terrible, but that it could be better.

It's kinda handicapped by the fact that you have a big inventory full of stuff this time. Can't have anything quicker. Only workaround I see is add quick slot/favorites to the touch screen.

On Wii U, yeah only option would be touchscreen, but we'll have to wait and see if NX can do things differently.

Yes I got you wrong, but this is one of the things that in my opinion, looks worse on video than while playing.

I've never been a fan of real time weapon changing because of the obvious implications of trying to change a weapon while the enemy is pummeling you. For me a pause is great because it allows you time to think.

It worked for Skyward Sword because you only ever really fought with your sword and needed items for puzzles or doing a one-time interaction with an enemy. There that "pulling something from your pocket" move was brilliant.

For BotW, you have a wide range of options to combat enemies. Different sword types, two-handed weapons, unique weapons (deku leaf), wooden-weapons, pole-type weapons, projectile weapons, staffs. Do you want to want to finish off that enemy with a claymore or do you want to push back a group of them with a gust of wind from the deku leaf before dealing damage? Do you want to freeze an enemy before firing a bomb arrow or whatever as seen in that video. Having the game slow down or pause is crucial for making a tactical decision like that.

In the latest Game & Watch for Super Mario 64 DS on Wii U VC Andre said it would be coming "not this weekend, but not too much longer after that"

So probably sometime this week coming up.

He said "very soon" in the last Nintendo Voice Chat, which was like 3 weeks ago?

He better hope he finishes before NX is announced because we'll likely get new footage at that event/in that Direct. If he's lucky, though, it'll just be the same stuff on the plateau to show how it compares across the consoles.

Nothing different unfortunately.

Of course not, what would be different? It's always the same stuff everyone does.

Man what the fuck happen to the mysterious 1 hour gamexplain analysis? goddamn

from the last page:

André promising the BotW analysis is suuuper close (not this weekend, tho) at the beginning of his SM64DS G&W.

There's still stuff that no one has done yet on video, like climbing the inside of the temple of time to reach that ledge, or completing the stone circle on the snowy mountain to uncover the korok, or looking what's underwater at the entrance of the great plateau.

Ah okay, that stuff. You'd have to get someone into an unlimited demo session who's going for these things specifically, though. So not very likely to happen at this point.

I'm pretty sure you can't dive, in the demo at least.

Did link really shoot a fire arrow setting the grass directly underneath him on fire, to have the hot air lift the glider up higher?

My God that's awesome

That looks awesome. The only thing I am starting to worry about is how easy the combat looks. I hope most of these demo vids are purposefully on a lower difficulty just to show off some moves, because if the combat is super easy then what will be the point of different weapons/moves, etc.
Well look who you're fighting in these videos...

The bokoblins look like they have no clue where Link is until the moment he lands. He bombs the watchtower bokoblin, fires an arrow, and the exclamation point of realization doesn't appear over the head until he's on the ground.

It's the very beginning and there are very tough enemies in the demo
