A Slim isn't getting it's own event and the invitation has the HDR color gamut on it, which the Slim doesn't support. It's also specifically a PlayStation Meeting so Sony isn't just going to be talking about their TVs.

Yeah, I'm glad that it's in that placement now. I thought the light strip would be on the top as well but I could see it working in the middle.

If a person with a high end gaming PC, such as myself, wanted a console....it definitely wouldn't be a console from MS. PS4 Neo is far more worthy for a gamer that already own's a gaming PC. Why would anyone want a xbox one or scorpio at this point if he or she already is a avid PC gamer with a decent rig? Makes no sense honestly....I really felt MS made a mistake by moving their titles over to the PC platform...that instantly eliminates 20% of future console sales, i know that's a rough opinion of mine but i would bet out of all Xbox owners that 20% are also PC gamers with decent gaming rigs. Who knows...maybe i am wrong about it but i just think there is no reason to buy a Xbox One or Scorpio now that MS is porting all their exclusives to PC now. That leaves NX or PS4 the best choice for those that already have a gaming PC.

WTF!!!! I don't get this obsession with BC that some GAF members have. Keep your old console and play the old games on it if you really treasure it so much. Option 2, get PSNow to play older games if you love those old games so much.

I hope Sony or others don't waste time/money on a non-factor like BC which I doubt many people even use it much. I rather they spend those resources on a better hardware/OS/features on the new console.

Me either but keep in mind Gaf is more hardcore than mainstream. The mainstream don't care about BC. Also i am a pretty hardcore gamer myself and even i want to throw up when i see last gen games. Last gen consoles lasted far too long imho. I am sure most people not interested in playing old games that are played out...Remasters are a little different i suppose.

This was the part that confused my friend when she translated, but now seeing this information, what she said makes sense, it seems the light bar is on the bottom of the middle part of the sandwich and not underneath the ledge or in the intermediary area. But that is trivial, the general area is there. Could still be on the ledge I guess depending on how they drew it.

Seems silly to put the light strip on the front unless it can be turned off or severely dimmed.. don't want that white bar blazing light when watching media in the dark.. good thing about the original PS4 having it on the top was you could stack another console on the top if you didn't care for the strip which is what I did.

4k blu ray player, better IQ. Some games will prob have better framerate, but 30 to 60 is a huge difference...

Edit: for anybody interested in a ps4 who doesn't own one but has a 4k tv, they could either buy a ps4 and a uhd player currently for 750, or an xbox one s for 300. 4k blu ray alone is a huge factor.

Games will look better on it. Better textures, lighting, models etc. But people need to remember that liuterally every PS4 game could run at 60fps, but developers choose to push the boundaries in other areas which drops the framerate down to 30fps.

True, but there were games (1st party) that ran above 30fps (not 60) but it was locked down to 30 as variable frame rate did not have the desired effect they wanted. So maybe Neo will offer some games with better IQ and 60fps

I agree. I think slim is being announced as available after shortly after the event. I think Neo is a different question entirely when it comes to sale date and release date, but should be relatively soon after the event.

I think the releases worldwide will be tiered. I have to think that is one reason for so many events so close together.

I think they are being silent about everything regardless of release date at this point because that was their plan to announce whatever at the event and they are sticking to it no matter what.

Better graphics.
More stable frame rate.
HDR support
UHD BR support
4K streaming
1080p for videos taken with the Share button


Some developers might be able to achieve 1080p60fps in their games and might offer the option but you can't expect that to happen for all games, the focus is more on resolution than frame rate because of 4K TVs.

Foxconn artist never drew back of the console. He did that with slim but never for Neo.
People ask about optical port he never answer. What's the deal?

I agree, except the resolution part, no point to to use valuable compute power when 95% of users still have 1080p TV.

If they thought like you they would not bother to be investing in an UHD BR player and 4K output HDMI compliance with NEO, because none of that would matter with 1080p televisions.

Even 1080p users will see a benefit of higher resolutions, better AA, better textures and lightning, and just better visual fidelity in general.

So Neo isn't for me.

Its a PS4 that plays PS4 games better and makes them look better.

No one knows. Rumors point to 4.2TF vs Scorpio 6TF. But Neo could end up higher. And Scorpio could end up lower.

Either way looks like with Scorpio launching later it is likely to have a newer CPU architecture, but even that isn't guaranteed.

I am mainly buying Neo because i love Sony first party games .
I buy a lot of stuff from them and i know they going to put the work into the neo version .
Saying it now HZD Neo version will be the best open world looking game this gen .
Just thinking about the Neo version of GOW , TLOU2 , Spider-Man etc etc has me hype as hell.
