First, this proves that modern consoles are not "PCs" (people keep parroting this like it's fact). PC BC is not affected by memory latency/timings, uArch opcode differences (Jaguar vs Zen) and of course there's no need for 2 different GPU binaries (OG PS4 vs Neo Polaris).

Second, how is PS4 BC going to work if the PS5 has a different type of memory (HBM-based) with different latency/timings?

The main difference there is that on PCs applications are forced to interact with the OS more and don't care about how they run. Console software gets to do lower level things which could give more performance but also lead to less portability. Though the answer to this question is a very large 'it depends' as individual applications have different needs, manufacturers implement things differently, which also means different remedies can be used to resolve these issues.

No chance. Announcing TLOU2 before revealing the UC4 SP DLC makes no sense to me.

I could see both being there, but if I had to choose it would be the UC4 DLC.

The specs as outlined in the Neo docs and backed-up by KennyLinder among others.

Until/unless Sony announce higher specs/clocks I'll believe the specs we have evidence and back-up for.

Don't get me wrong though. I'd love for Neo to be a petaflop beast that runs on the tears of Mattrick.

They decided premium console is stupid, cancel Neo and stick with what works for 30 years.

It's true potential will not be recognized if they don't use a better CPU than Jaguar and don't bump up the bandwidth a bit. GPU is not the concern with the machine.

Said it before but 4.2TF at 399 would be perfect for me. I'd take 5TF at 499 either though. My PC will be for all the multiplats and MS games. Best looking Sony games on the Neo. Happy with that setup going forward.
