That's a guarantee, like clockwork. Can't wait for the cringe/embarrassment.
I've got a pretty powerful PC, and I'll buy a Scorpio. I may be in the minority (?) but I still feel that it offers me something I'm interested in.[/QUOTE]
What does it offer that you're interested in? I have a powerful gaming PC and see 0 reason to own a Scorpio, other than I like tech gadgets, but it's definitely not going to be one I can justify with practically nothing that interests me any longer being exclusive to XBOX.
I still see certain games as "console" games and prefer them on the Xbox. Having a library that goes across both works for me. But I completely understand I may be a little weird.....
4.2 is more than enough given my RX470 eats any game for breakfast at 1080p. The problem is that the PS4's CPU is extremely underpowered and it doesn't look like Neo is addressing that. How many TeraFlops do we need for 1080p60 Ultra current-gen gaming? Is 6TF an overkill? Or is 4.2TF enough for that?
And yeah, I understand that 1080p60 is a goal that can be reached with less flops (i.e. Rayman Legends PS3, Uncharted/TLOU Remastered), but I'm specifically asking for current-gen 3D games (like KZ-SF, UC4, Infamous SS, DriveClub etc etc.)
Good point...game seems like it's in development forever...I'm curious if Dreams will 're-surface' (ignoring their streams) at this presentation. The graphics are purely generated by GPU Compute and the Neo should do wonders for it.
Haha what a shitshow of embarrassment and asshatery that was. I cringe just thinking about it.The Polygon PS4 launch stream where they shit talk the console the whole time and tell outright lies about it in order to justify themselves is the cringiest video from a gaming site in the past three years. I can honestly imagine some of them freaking out to the point of tears with the way the Xbone has been left in the dust this generation despite their unconcealed conviction it would carry on right where the 360 left off.

Pathological liars believe their own lies, because their brain tells them what they're thinking is the truth.I'm pretty sure I asked this the other day but I don't think I got an answer. Is there a semi-credible rumor that has people thinking NEO might be 5TF? It's just striking me as wishful thinking at this point.

FFXV and RE7 will probably be there. What software I believe to be shown...
Past - UC4 and Bloodborne..
Future - CoD, GoW4, TLG, Horizon, GTSport...
what am I missing?
Having Destiny as my 'main' game, I hope Bungie gives us a NEO mode before Destiny 2

GPU wise the Neo is already there at 4.2 TF. That would be able to push all current generation games at 1080p 60fps Ultra.
The problem is its terrible CPU will prevent a lot of games from hitting that
I doubt it, won't be a ton of games at this thing I'd imagine
I don't understand why that would be the case. The PS4 can run 1080p 30fps just fine in most cases and, if you're running the same software titles, I wouldn't think you would need a lot more in CPU calls to run them at 60fps, just double the GPU (which the Neo's GPU will more than cover).
I'd like DisplayPort support, either with a second port or add-on adapter so I can use my 2160p60 monitor (without HDMI 2.0) before buying an UHD TV.

See how many watts an RX 480 needs at 911mhz and you will have your answer.
VR is heavily GPU bound so definitely better/more stable performance with Neo. However, you do not need Neo to enjoy PSVR. A regular PS4 MUST be able to provide an enjoyable VR experience. That is the base minimum & messaging they are focused on in VR space.So... wishful thinking. Got ya.
On a different note, how do we feel about PSVR support for the NEO? Obviously it plays PS4 games, but do we expect them to offer better looking experiences on PSVR? I could go either way honestly. It seems like a no-brainer from an enthusiast standpoint, but I also think it seems a wonky marketing message for PSVR.
Because the GPU doesn't handle all functions of running a game. You could have a 10 TF GPU and if you have an awful CPU you could still be CPU bound. There are specific functions that are often CPU dependant.
A bigger GPU certainly helps but it won't magically be the difference for all engines / processes to hit 60fps. There are some games though that Neo will likely make up the difference for.

Vita 2 with physical l2 and r2 buttons please :OWould it not be awesome if they went full Apple? Like the Watch announcement.
"This has been quite a show so far, wouldn't you say? With the PS4 Slim and the PS4 NEO? Well, there's one more thing..."
Vita 2
If your GPU is handling all the visuals, I don't see how running a game at 60fps would require much more CPU than running the same game at 30fps. The game logic, AI and audio processing are all the same- the only difference is the doubled visual processing which is being handled by the GPU.

Saved for the one true beast; PS5 launch title. Knack doesn't do half-steps. Bodying Mario has gotten to his head.Wont be a proper Neo reveal if they dont reveal Knack 2: The Knackening to show off its true potential.
Oh it'll be a tough position to be in marketing wise no doubt. But they are limiting all PSVR games at the moment to perform super solid on PS4 first and foremost. If you're a dev making a PSVR game, you must hit the minimum constant fps of 60. So it can get reprojected to 120. This will be across the board for all PSVR games but running on Neo, they could be hitting 90fps native or even 120 instead of 60 native & reprojected to 120 instead.I understand that Sony will have restrictions on PSVR games needing to work with regular PS4, but... Someone who wants to pay $400 for PSVR at launch might be annoyed if they find out their current PS4 has the "lesser" experience so to say. That'll be an interesting line to see Sony walk.

The game world logic updates 30 times per second in 30 fps games. Increasing it to 60 requires more CPU resources. This is called "tick rate" in online MP games.

From my understanding, the cpu is more or less the same on neo.
Assassins Creed: Unity is a testament to this. Actually ran better with a more-stable framerate on xbox one vs ps4 due to Cpu being stronger. From my understanding, the cpu is more or less the same on neo.
Same architecture, higher clock rate. Correct.Didn't the leak specs put it at roughly 1.3x the clock speed of the PS4 CPU?

Just get an HDMI 2.0 <-> DP1.2 (or higher) cable/converter. The chances of Neo supporting displayport are very slim.I'd like DisplayPort support, either with a second port or add-on adapter so I can use my 2160p60 monitor (without HDMI 2.0) before buying an UHD TV.
That cable is directional in the wrong direction it wouldn't work for him
