Dev kits don't need WiFi. Ethernet is fine.

The newest DS4 controllers don't even need BT communication, so USB should suffice.

It would for instances where the game struggles to maintain 30 or 60. Like just cause 3, I'd be willing to bet it has no issues on the Neo. Frame rate dips aren't hard coded into the games.

My guess is that you google translated something? It's only a guess, but it's probably related to the mold, and not some kind of fillet.

JC3 will still run like crap on Neo.

Even if it has a Zen CPU and the game gets patched for Neo, it won't do much good without GPGPU-accelerated physics/destruction.

Only a guess again, but in order to make production as seamless as possible - using the same mold for Neo and Slim would be one step in the right direction. And never forget, it's about making things as cheap as possible. I would not be surprised if it just looks like a beefier (mmm, fillet) slim.

Yep I have the Astro A50s as well and I'll be pretty pissed if I can't use them on the Neo

Does your TV not have an optical port? That's how I use my Astro mixamp right now.

Really hope Astro make HDMI passthrough Mixamps next year.

Mine does, with HDMI ARC connection... however I remember when testing (on a Samsung 7100) the optical out was locked and grayed on PCM 2 channel only. Maybe I should revisit that, but it didn't appear I could get 5.1 this way. Maybe something in the TV and/or receiver config, but I have 7.1 going to the onkyo receiver, then HDMI audio out to the TV (ARC)

I expected something like this, reminiscent of the PS4, consider how they designed the PS4 Slim. It seemed like they wanted to differentiate the look of their two upcoming products, and if the PS4 Slim doesn't look like a PS4 then the PS4 Neo probably does.

Uhh...this drawing makes it looks very much like the Slim and less like the OG PS4. It's basically a slim with a third level.

I confused test kits (which are in retail shells) with final dev kits. But regardless, the ps4 got a bump from 4gb to 8gb (to the point where some devs who only found that out when it was officially announced at the PS meeting). While I don't expect anything like that as it's far too late for adding in/swapping components (nor do I expect any upgrade at this point for that matter), upclocks are still a possibility.

Ah ok that makes sense! I expect the dev kits and retail kits got a reasonable upgrade from 4.2tf.

It’s kinda big, it’s the first time in history Sony has ever reiterated on hardware. it’s a big change, and they need to talk to their customers about it. Maybe not 2 hours, but it won’t be a short conference either I don’t think. Lots riding on it.
