Not at all. Feel free to correct me on this but I don't see console gamers getting elated when Sony or Microsoft post record profits that don't directly benefit them. I'm not saying that everyone that buys Apple products does it for the 'status', most have legitimate uses for the device but it remains one of the leading manufacturers of products bought to appeal to the desire for a status symbol.

ok i laughed

What the fuck are you talking about. Every time Sony/MS/Nintendo makes a profit/tanks you have 12323 threads about it.

I have a 6s+, so I will be waiting for the 8. Full glass screen with no button. OLED and maybe wireless charging? I am all in. I can wait a year.

But Samsung is handling the situation very well I will add. I dont think an iphone 7 should distract Galaxy note 7 on lookers.

I'm really curious to see if this is really just a spec bump. I mean, every iteration has something new so they have to have something.

Also, can we have an Apple thread without people coming in and shitting on people for liking Apple products?

256gb iPhone 7 Plus or bust. It's a solid upgrade for me. More ram is worth it alone.

Doubt it, it's basically an iPhone 6C, IPhone 8 will be huge.

Ready to jump in. I'm gonna receive 500 bucks for my Galaxy S7 and I'm not even mad that my experience with it has been utter shit.

I've only had the 6+, so force touch is an absolutely new feature for me. And since it's been a year I can relax that most of the usability issues, if any, have been ironed out.

The shilling and chest thumping that comes when the company you've backed when purchasing their flagship product succeeds (or competitor fails) is evolutionary. You've invested a substantial amount of resources to buy that product so that damn thing better be the best out there. Otherwise you've wasted your time, money, and all the ladies will be flocking to the other camp with much bigger, badass peacock feathers

That's why people love go crazy over sales numbers lol

On that note, apple better include a headphone adapter in the box!

Yea, I think removing the headphone jack is stupid unless the tradeoff is REALLY worth it. Bigger battery, more screen maybe it'd be worth it. I use bluetooth for audio w/ my phone 99% of the time but there are times where I really need a cable and the ability to charge my phone simultaneously. Sucks that's gonna be handled with a dongle.

Not a deal breaker, but I don't really support the decision unless the battery is bigger due to the removal of it or more screen.

Uh what I said was, record profits that don't directly benefit them as in the consumer. Apple will make profits regardless, they could sell 10 million iPhones in a given year and still make a ton of money. It wouldn't effect the consumer in the slightest because Apple controls the ecosystem around their products. On the other hand Sony or Microsoft making a profit with their consoles helps justify an investment that generally is not immediately profitable but relies on longer term user base growth. So in essence a console gamer has reason for concern if consoles start to under-perform unlike the iPhone that will always generate profits. Just wanted to clarify.

If Apple went from selling 200 million phones a year to 10 million, it would affect developers etc. adopting the platform, which would affect the ecosystem people have bought into.
Don't MS lose money on Xbox? they seem to be doing pretty well regardless.

iPhones don't cost more than any other flagship phones. They are commonly owned by soccer moms, 14 year-olds, and the elderly. They are the Honda Civic of cellphones -- not the Lexus or BMW.

In US/Europe, nobody is buying them for "status". Nobody associates them with being hip or wealthy.

well then they might have to start working for a living!

Someone needs to report apple to the government. Not working for their dime and shitting out money? That should be illegal, and unsanitary as well.

So tell me, after the iPhone what is one innovative product of service that Apple has come up with? They have stashed billions of dollars from this one product. Did they create the TV streaming device? Did they develop a voice enabled speaker system? How about a streaming service for music (they had to buy out Beats for this)? Are they responsible for these things existing?
