1 hour of ReCore gameplay with Major Nelson and Joseph Staten

so you just lock onto enemies and hold fire until they die? what was the whole spiel in the beginning about burst firing your weapon to maintain accuracy for, then?

Uhm...that's what you should be doing (burst firing). You lock on, then burst fire. I don't get your confusion...

i'm curious to see how they will use mobility with double jump and dashed in combat
if they challenge the player with it, it can really be interesting

The reveal trailer made me expect more of a buddy exploration adventure. Maybe those elements appear before or after this level? If this is mainly a shooter where you lock-on, jump around and avoid enemy patterns in these dungeon-type environments, I don't think I'm interested.

Would be cool if Microsoft could show other parts of the game, which I hope exist.
Indeed it was pretty cool.

It's crazy how somebody actually explaining everything carefully and clearly, can make it all make sense. Between seeing this and the IGN first Gears videos where they had the pros playing, It makes a ton of difference

It makes all the difference. I hope MS changes their way of showing stuff at events like E3, too, cause the way i see it they are mainly hurting the hype for their games (which end up being pretty cool)

Scalebound is suffering from this, too.

For real.

Dude's great at this.

He's amazing.

This showing of the game looks great and is actually tempting me to get it, will jold out for the reviews though. Anyone know when the reviews drop?

Last time I saw Joseph Staten on screen was with Halo, man it's been a while! He's so cool.

He's in a lot of the early (pre-release) Destiny stuff, too. Listening to him talk about the games he's worked on is really interesting and really makes you appreciate the games even more. I'm sure Recore is going to be a much richer game thanks to his involvement.

I said in the other thread but I'm getting rise of the tomb raider vibes from it.

I get more of a poor man's Ratchet and Clank to be honest. At least from a visual perspective, some of the movement seems janky but the core combat looks okay.

EDIT: Actually, it looks gamey and arcady, and I'm down with that.

i'm interested but want a steam version...wasn't it supposed to released there too ? i remember reading it somewhere.

It's never been confirmed for Steam, but I'd wager that we'll see on it on Steam a few months later (like with Quantum Break)

If the game is as good as I hope it'll be, I'll gladly double-dip on a Steam version later.

GUYS PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER ME

did the overlay stuff got fixed with the latest update? where you couldn't use shadowplay and stuff with windows store games

Oh this looks much better than the other stuff. Still not sure how metroidy and interesting the jumping/puzzling/exploration/traversal gets.

I preordered it the other day as I love this genre. I am getting Lost Planet vibes from it but with more fluidity, which is not a bad thing.

There was always a disconnect between what we were shown, and the positive previews - but this video definitely helps close that gap quite a bit. I hope it's good! This seems like the type of game that could have a really good sequel if Microsoft were to inject a bit of money into it.

Ok so I only just realised that even the disc copy comes with Banjo.

Ok I'm buying this next week. I can get staff price on the disc so I'll only be paying between $35 and $40AU.

I'd like to know this too but I'm guessing no one here has played a UWP game since KI came out.

Yep, this game keeps looking better and better to me. I can't wait to play it! Glad there's more positive comments this time around. I agree the dungeons haven't been the best, but showing this semi-open world should help ppl realize there's a lot more to this game. One more week! :D
