Pokémon Sun & Moon | Info and speculation thread

I see lots of people thinking that Jangmo-o is the pseudo, but has a pseudo ever been shown off before pre-release? I remember a lot of people thought Axew was a pseudo as well.

yeah i didnt know there was a BST pattern with them until now. interesting.

yeah i dont think jangmo-o is the pseudo then, they will probs keep it secret
 
My random thoughts

Jangmo-o is gonna be a 3 stage mid-late game. I don't think its the pseudo.

You'll get Jang in the mid game and see the other 2 evos wild late game. I think Fighting/Dragon is gonna look sick.

Vicikivolt is stamp from early game for me and it could be fully evolved by 30 or 40.

Formantis will be in the Lost Forest round 1st or 2nd Trial. Lurantis seems like it could be a Lvl 20ish Evo or high like 45. I can't remember the footage.

I think Wishiwashi gets the school ability round 25-30

Salandit is a 2stager that evolves around 25-30

Wimpod is a 3 stager thats fully evolved before 50

Everyone only gets 1 Type Null per game

There might be 2-3 more pokemon of Type Null's caliber

Everybody has forgot about Tapu Koko and the other island guardians


I don't think Ultra Beasts will be capturable

Beware and Wishiwashi school will be >550 BST

I think this Gen will be 150+ new pokemon.
 
I can see both sides of the "Arceus-Type:Null" argument ending up being sort of right. Gamefreak likes leaving stuff up in the air for people to speculate on, I could see them leaving even more hints towards a relationship with Arceus without saying that outright maybe in its Pokedex entry or in-game books or something, but it never becoming a remotely significant part of the story, fueling youtubers' theories for months after release.

I have the feeling they like doing that sort of stuff.

I'd kill to see another Gen 5 sized generation. One of my favourite thing about the new games is new Pokemon

I kind of hope that it isn't related to Arceus. It just feels too "on the nose" for me.
 
I guess Tyranitar sort of counts, since it was seen in the initial reveal of Gen II, but the Pokemon there look like early sketches, and some of those didn't even make it into the final game. The formula wasn't really in place before Gen III anyway.

The Deino line is the pseudo family of Gen V. Haxorus BST isn't 600, which seems to be one of the only three rules that's stuck since the beginning.
 
I think Jangmo-o is the pseudo. We've already seen two other new dragons so far (Drampa & Turtonator), and we've never had a region with more than three native non-legendary Dragon-types. Hell, Alolan Exeggutor is part Dragon as well!

It's possible that the psuedo won't be Dragon, but it seems to be a staple at this point. Metagross is the only exception, and it was introduced alongside Salamence.

Jangmo-o also just sounds like a pseudo based on the description:

Warrior Pokemon, lives in harsh locations away from people...sounds like a pseudo to me.

Hopefully we get two like Gen 3. tired of more dragons, especially after the nerfs.

While I agree, you're forgetting Tyranitar and the fact that this generation has broken a number of patterns already. Not directed at you specifically, but I find it odd that people are making claims based on patterns when it seems so much is up in the air this generation.

That being said, I'm hoping for a fighting/dragon pseudo :D

Yeah they dropped Tapu Koko a while back and now it's hardly mentioned. Maybe the other three won't be revealed until release? It'll be interesting how the Island Guardians, Solgaleo/Lunala and Ultra Beasts tie into each other.

We're at 42 Pokemon revealed now (if we count Cutifley's evo), which I think is the same amount as XY revealed before launch in total. It feels like they could either go the ORAS route (reveal everything) or the BW route, where they have enough new Pokemon to justify revealing a lot. I don't think we'll get 150+ though.

Outside of proto-Tyranitar appearing on that old Japanese magazine, the Pseudo-Legend has never been revealed pre-release...

But as people said there's always a Pokemon revealed that people think might hold that status, be it Lucario, Haxorus, or Noivern.

Considering that he isn't -the- Prof. Oak from Kanto, I don't think it points toward anything of the sort.

Now the fact that they've -only- revealed Alolan forms for Gen I pokemon up to now? That certainly points in that direction.

Are any of it's pre evolutions ever shown? I'm wondering if Jangmo-o will be the pseudo.

Yeah but before Gen VI, we never even had more than two. GameFreak is clearly trying to de-glamorize the Dragon type with the intro of Fairy types so that they can use the type more often on different Pokemon.

Same, I'm still mad that they didn't make Volcarona a Psuedo after all it's in-game hype (and because a Bug Pseudo after years of Bug type being considered worthless would've been so amazing).

Nah, Gen III had Salamence, Flygon & Altaria and Gen V had Hydreigon, Haxorus and Druddigon. I was actually wrong and Gen VI had 4 with Tyrantrum, Noivern, Dragalge & Goodra. Either way your point still stands - I do agree that it feels they're trying to bring Dragon down a little more in line with the other types since the introduction of Fairy.

Wimpod comes across to me as a Pokemon that maybe just evolve once and be the Milotic/Gyarados of the region. Yeah WishiWashi is like that but i dont know if i count it since School form isnt perma.

Vikavolt totally feels like it will follow Scolipede and evolve rather late and have higher stats to boot for it.

It would be interesting if Midgame they let us go to the Canyon area to the left already.

Axex is a pseudo, isn't it? Gen 5 was like Gen 3 with two pseudos (Haxorus and Hydreigon in Gen 5, Salamence and Metagross in Gen 3).
 
Ok so some brief story speculation.

Aether Foundation is 100% the main bad guy. I'm not sure about their motives, but it's probably insane like erasing reality or opening up portals to another dimension. You know, JRPG junk. Team Skull is also a villain, but we already get hints that Guzma is bitter that he didn't become a island captain and is basically just a low level criminal that steals Pokemon. He probably won't attempt to render a hole in spacetime to achieve his goals.

Lillie and Gladion are connected to the Aether Foundation and are probably brother and sister. I think one leak even said that Lillie was the daughter of the main bad guy. When Team Skull was shown, I thought that aspect of the leak was clearly wrong, but now it makes me think it could be true with the Ultra Beasts and the fact that Lusamine looks like an Aryan dream. I don't think Lillie is Lusamine's daughter, but they could always do something ridiculous like saying she's thousands of years old (Hi, AZ). Faba, the older scientist, could be Lillie's father. I mean he totally looks like an evil scientist.

It's too early to say what Ultra Beasts actually are, but UB-01 is obviously connected to Lillie. Maybe they did some experiment, or something about dimensions, or Lillie's anger was willed into a Pokemon... they could make some anime ass excuse for it, who knows. It probably led to Lillie leaving the Aether Foundation. Same with Gladion. Not only does he look like Lillie, but he has the bizarre Type: Null Pokemon. I'm going to guess that it's not something you stumble upon in Route 4 and the backstory is tied in with the Aether story.

My prediction is once you know more about Gladion, he teams up with you to take down the Aether Foundation. Team Skull as a whole will have an eventual face turn. You will probably get Type: Null from Gladion at some point in the story.

Also Alolan Oak gives some credence to the leak that you will have to create a Pokemon League and that Blue (Oak) will appear. OAK REUNION

I have theroy that from each game from now on well get no gym leaders until the sequal sun 2 moon 2 adding that to a updated version will be enough for me to dig again anyway

That or gyms don't appear till the post game and the first gym starts at level 50

So they said Coro Coro scoop was Rockruff's evo, but they didn't mention it was exclusive right?
