I'm not in the "oh shit" camp just yet, myself. It does appear to be completely innocuous: she was up and walking around less than an hour later, and she has a (non-serious) medical condition that could easily cause this.

If she nosedives in the polls next week? Yeah, then I'm in "oh shit" mode. But I really doubt that is going to happen.

Yes. Obviously. I am not giving a diagnosis. I am telling you that based on history, a syncopal episode from a seated position is more concerning than one from standing in the sun during a ceremony. History is a huge part of medicine. I never said she certainly had one thing or another. Most syncopal episodes are due to vasovagal syncope. Someone her age though you definitely have to rule or more concerning etiologies but just because she fainted does not mean she has any concerning underlying medical conditions.

Someone made the joke "it was leg day." earlier in this thread.

If I go a few months without going to the gym, I'm pretty much guaranteed to have a near-fainting episode when I start using the squat rack once again.

And I can feel them oncoming, too.. I'll get short of breath, and then it's like someone turns on a faucet inside my mouth, a huge volume of watery saliva just appears out of nowhere, and then the dizziness and blurred vision.

I'll lay down for a minute or two, and then be fine... drenched in sweat.

But I must be dying.

She has been going to other countries for decades and had no problem with it. Most countries also turn up the air conditioning a bit in meetings with political leaders if it is hot.
