One of the things i've grown to rather despise about Gen VI is how lifeless and dull so many of the attack animations, both the moves themselves and the characters (as well as the camera), look in comparison to previous generations. As an example, Close Combat just doesn't have the punch it should when all you get is some generic white flurry to represent the various hits and the power therein along with a little steam to indicate the negative side effects of using such a move. The battle system itself is fine, it's just the representation of said system is woefully underwhelming visually.
