Yes, there will be a Forzathon event in I think October where you can also get it. I think.

Yes, there are weekly events called "Forzathon" (ugh) and the Warthog will be a reward in one of those weekly events in october.

I think nobody knows at this point. I am sure the same profile on PC and XBOX at the same time won't work as described. However with an additional gametag on the console I could see it working. You probably need to wait for someone to try it once the game is out.

Someone may try it with ReCore.

Question about play anywhere. On Xbox.com, it says

Does this just mean my gamertag, or is it really somehow restricting by game. E.g. if I'm playing forza on PC signed in as me, can my son still play on Xbox signed in as him? Assuming the box is set as the home console

Yes that works.

If you have the deluxe or ultimate though your son won't get access to the VIP features though. The VIP DLC can't be gameshared.

Its already used thats why i asked.
I really hate deals like this.. Just put it in the game for everybody... Im paying 99 euro's for this game for fucksake..

At some level I get it. You are buying a racing game, you want all the cars. But if you dont like Halo and arent playing the games....what connection do you really have to the Warthog that you need it? Plenty of great REAL off road vehicles in the game. Just seems like if you are not invested in the Halo world, the fake Warthog shouldnt mean much.

They aren't messing around with this, I bought it yesterday and found out it's already up for preload and then got my Warthog code emailed to me. I'm all ready to go.

Some potentially good news for us wheel users:

Hi folks,

Alongside the release of our most recent update for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, which introduced Windows 10 wheel support, we’ve been working hard to improve steering wheel support and FFB tuning for Forza Horizon 3. Because the game features driving experiences and vehicle types that are not present in Apex, such as off-road driving in trophy trucks and buggies, this integration work requires additional tuning across the game’s diverse vehicles and terrain.

While not found in the Xbox One demo, many of these improvements will be present in the full version of Forza Horizon 3, on PC and Xbox One, when Forza Horizon 3 launches with early access on September 23. In addition, we’ll have support for additional wheels beyond the Apex wheel list that was previously announced. As we’ve said before, wheel support is an ongoing priority for the Forza team and, as we gather your feedback on wheels in both Apex and Forza Horizon 3, we will continue to improve wheel support in future content updates.

Thanks,
Brian

So yeah, XboxDE got back to me again on their own, telling me they responded "hasty".

"Xbox One ver will have HDR at launch, PC ver will run native 4K"

So they have no clue what they are talking about just throwing out buzzwords. Why do I even bother asking PR accounts anymore.
So don't expect HDR in the PC version.

Maybe we should try to get Helios to confirm?

Well, I asked him in an other thread and he said the demo won't but the full game will - so I'm pretty sure he also was talking about the Xbox version; much like the XboxDE team.
Don't want to bother him too much, I guess he is pretty busy considering the launch is very close. We'll see on the 23rd (well the peeps who spent the cash for early access, not me :P).

Not sure why they mix up the different versions though.

Microsoft said at GDC that HDR in DirectX on PC's will be released for developers in 2016 and aiming for 2017 for consumers.

Extremely unlikely this will support HDR on PC. Starting next year is when you'll start seeing it in more titles.

Am more hyped about the Reliant Robin (Plastic Pig) in all honesty.

That's a shame. I got all excited due to their previous tweet saying HDR was in the PC version.

me too.

Was really looking forward to seeing it in HDR.

of course, there's no reason they couldn't add HDR support for the PC if it isn't already there.

HDR seems to create a lot of confusion among the general populace.. (especially when people think their monitors they bought years ago are capable of HDR).

Could be they don't want to say anything about it because most PC players won't see it because they don't have their PCs connected to HDR capable tvs.

Interested to know this too, was going digital for this benefit so me an my son can play co-op and race together.

How hard is it likely to be to get a warthog code in the october event? I don't play Halo but my son loves Halo and also loves Forza Horizon so he'd lose his mind over getting a warthog in forza (because he's 8 and he loses his mind over stuff like that). But he plays Halo at his mothers house on a different account so there's no way for me to get code for owning them.

Why can't he just give you the code sent to that account?

You only need Halo, not FH3 to get a code

I have a couple of questions, when the Ultimate Edition releases early will we get our rewards cars and pre-order cars then or on Tuesday?

And when will they take the money for my Ultimate Edition?
I'm paying some of it by Xbox credit and the rest by paypal or credit card.

Yes. That works. The PC version can only use the owners account, but on the Xbox designated home console, anyone can use the content on it an share Gold if the owner has Gold. So you can do that for the non-owner to play on the Xbox at the same time. I have done this for KI.

EDIT: Hm, thinking about this some more, KI is F2P technically, so maybe it's a bit different. However, I'm pretty sure I still had access to all characters on the secondary account on my Xbox when I was simultaneously logged into the account for which I had everything on the PC.

Because he plays on my ex-wifes boyfriends account/xbox at his mothers house and I don't want anything to do with even beginning to ask about anything like that.

Does the Ultimate Edition include future expansions or just cars? I don't really care about getting more cars. :/

Only cars, expansions are always extra (unlike in FH1).

This was one of the worst things about FH2 imo, when they charge so much for an Ultimate Edition you'd like to think it would come with any future DLC's. I too don't care about car packs, but do care about major DLCs.

Did they offer a 50% discount for VIP Pass owners last time? Hopefully if they release any expansions for FH3 they do the same again, as it's a welcome gesture. I'd struggle to justify spending more on the game after dropping down £80ish but half price discount makes it feel much less painful. Wish there was a Game + VIP + Early Access edition though.

Well yeah, that doesn't sound like a path you want to go down.

I should check if either of my son's accounts got the code as I'm sure they've both played Halo with me on their accounts. If I manage to find their codes I'll send one your way.

Thank you but an awesome gaffer just sent me one.

Just pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition at Best Buy. I will have a couple of hours to play Friday morning before I have to leave town for a wedding. At least I will have Sunday night free after I get back in town to play. I also just got the message yesterday from MS with my Warthog code. Pumped!

Agree about the expansions, but yes, they did offer 50% discount on Storm Island for VIP.

Also, for those looking for a Warthog code I found two of them (?) in my son's account message history. I'll save one of them for him as he might like to play Horizon, but the other is available if anyone wants it.

Yeah same here, still no Warthog code here either. It's weird how slow this thing is going... Oh well anyway, still some time before release.

For those with wheels what are your setups like? I am interested in a wheel but not sure how to best set it up, and how to attach it to a desk or table.

I don't have a wheel anymore but what I used to do when I had one was get one of those heavy wood tv tray tables (cheap at walmart) and i'd clamp the wheel to that. To keep the peddles from slidding around on the hardwood floor in my house i'd use some of that tacky stuff they sell to go underneath rugs to keep them from sliding. Pretty ghetto setup but very cheap and very effective. Also very portable.

Wheel stand pro and the like are ideal tbh. They've often got enough height and angle adjustment to fit any seating position. More recently I've taken to raising the pedal end as the pedals can feel uncomfortable but it has been a brilliant bit of kit.

I had a Rennsport Wheel Stand when I had my Fanatec CSR setup. I thought it worked really well assuming you had a decent chair to sit in and it was adjustable enough, although you really had to crank down on the screws to keep it stable. I was able to invert the pedals on my CSR Elite's, so I did't need to raise the pedal base, but I think that would have helped if they weren't inverted.

Ultimately though I sold the setup as I didn't find myself hauling it up to use often enough to justify the cost, and then it wasn't supported by any of the current gen games (although PS4 might support it now?). It's too bad, because now I would want to at least get back to that quality of wheel, and I'm not sure how good the Thrustmaster/Logitech options would be there while a Fanatec setup would probably be over $1000.

For those with wheels what are your setups like? I am interested in a wheel but not sure how to best set it up, and how to attach it to a desk or table.

I have a wheelstand pro and it's good stuff, but I originally bought it so I could fold it up and put away easily which, even if it doesn't take that long to do, it's a total hassle, especially in times where it's gotten so easy to start a game without having to put the disk in.

If you want to game on a office-desk, you can clamp most wheels really well onto but look up the clamp mechanism first, there are some different solutions out there. If that's not gonna work, all wheels can be screwed onto stuff using threaded holes under the wheel base, so with some pieces of wood, countersunk-head screws and c-clamps you can build your own clamp in a few minutes. A problem are the pedals that you have to fix somehow, most of the time a wide piece of wood used as a spacer between pedals and wall will be all you need, it can tricky if the desk isn't facing a wall or if your seat is very high or low. A higher seat might need a raised pedal set, a low seat position asks for the pedal set to be angled or even to use the Formula 1 top-down pedal position. If your screen is small, you need to move it as close to you face as possible, or your FOV will look terrible (try a racing game FOV calculator online), but in Forza it will look terrible either way unless Turn 10 would finally decide to let wheel users set the FOV like it was set the E3 motion-rig demo (also, no onscreen wheel in that demo, but the games never have that option).

If you're looking for stuff a level above a wheelstand, Playseats are "ok", but not for the price they ask for. If I ever decide to get a more expensive wheel-pedal set with an Oculus V2 or so, then I'd buy a GT-Omega stand with it, but buy my own car-/racing- seat to mount on it.
