I get the feeling that this whole endeavor is about e-sports first and games second for Amazon.

Which to be fair, the spectating is easy to follow which can't be said for most games. The game just doesn't look interesting and we have no idea how the mechanics work

it's a multiplayer game. You should have seen the amount of pushback from even good games like Overwatch.
