How are they confirmed? I guess the water starter is leading to it, but the fire starter would need to evolve its head back closer to first form in order to fit that final form design we've seen in the leaks. Those leaks probably were real at the time, but not the finished designs.



At least in the video, it was still Ash Greninja (well, his Japanese name).

Not sure if that rly matters we've had mid evos look quite different from their finals. Like dewott to samurott, I remember thinking greninja was fake initially when leaked cause he looked so different from frogadier.

it would be awesome, just hope its not version specific like rockruff though -_-. Cause if litten gets a fire/dark evo i could totally see that being exclusive to moon.

Yeah it's been mentioned by Joe to be a mistranslation. The split starter evos aren't happening, as well as a lot of other things from those fake leaks.

I think CoroCoro mentioned that a secret about Rockruff was similar to a secret with the starters. Rockruff's secret was the split evolution soooo

I guess I could see how the leaked starters could be seen as "Moon" versions of the second forms. But I doubt it'll actually happen.

3DSs unfortunately can't hold multiple NNIDs so you're out of luck :/

I have an EU and US 3DS for release differences. Last year some games came out stateside over 4 months before they did here. Sun and Moon come out a week earlier across there too so I'm glad I have it. (Basically you can have a US or Canadian account on a US 3DS to access the eshop over there)

Each of the starter evos gained something that's only present in the final evo, it's not hard to see.

They also all gained things that disappear in the next form. Yeah, that's possible, but I don't see it happening with all three starters at once.

Like I said above, I think the leak was real (and that has been obvious for a while considering the trial captain there), but those aren't necessarily the final designs, considering how they don't even have names - so the typing and general concepts might be correct, but I don't think the designs actually will be those.

Thanks, I really hope these last Pokemon get Alolan forms. I doubt the one with Gen 4 evos will get anything, but these last untouched mons could really use something to put them back in the limelight.

That kind of indicates to me that Game Freak is, if not necessarily planning on an NX cross-release, at least preparing for the near future in which they won't have have a second screen to use.

Why are Popplio's line's names being made into convoluted messes by the community?

Popplio may be a combination of sea lion pup, pop, pōpō (Hawaiian for ball), and ʻīlio-holo-i-ka-uaua (Hawaiian for the Hawaiian monk seal; meaning "dog that runs in rough water").

It's Pop (as in popping a bubble) + Lion (as in sea lion), with the N cut off. It really doesn't need to be any more complex than that

And Brionne is even more ridiculous

Brionne may come from brio (vivacity of style or performance), sea lion, and ondine (a type of female water nymph or mermaid).

Or it could be Brine + Lion, with lion spelled "fancy" because the name Brion just looks weird as a Pokemon name. It's not like Pokemon names haven't spelled the animal part of their name wrong or fancy before...
