Amazing.... i'm speechless... i really like the concept, the design and the presentation.

The real problem is to wait for march for play the new mario!

What I want to know is its storage capabilities. From the looks of it, I'm assuming that we can't change the harddrive so it better be a good amount like 1TB....unless its cartridge only and no digital 0.0...

That Nintendo is reviving the branding of my favourite console of all time is very exciting.

The animation in the trailer needs to be on boot every time.

Lot of good reception from people on my Facebook. There seems to be a genuine excitement for this (I am also excited for it). Possibly due to being different than a Playstation or Xbox with a "gimmick" that people truly want.

I have been mashing my brain wondering what Nintendo would come up, and this was simpler and more useful than I had both guessed and hoped.

My last Nintendo console was a GameCube. I see myself buying this day one.

Also I personally haven't felt this child-like sense of console hype since the Wii/360/PS3 launches.

Okay, I really don't like a lot about this, but yeah, it's the only thing like it on the market and I want it. I REALLY want it. I hope its online service is good, I hope it allows HiSpeed SD cards, and I hope, for the love of God, that its battery life is legit.

It looks chunky, extra processing power perhaps?

How would that even work? Games are going to run worse when not in the dock? The Tegra chip is in the tablet, how would the dock even increase processing power.

To me it looks like just a device to charge the tablet, send the signal to the TV, handle accessories and external storage.

Graphics seem poor. I have no use for a portable handheld console, so Nintendo is trying to force me to spend money on a damn tablet instead of improving graphical capabilities. This seems destined to flop.

I'm quite perchED for the RED colour in its branding...

Xbox being green
PlayStation being blue

Now Nintendo going Red!

Hopefully this carries on into their game packages etc.

To those asking about battery life on Nintendo Switch, I'm hearing "mediocre" battery life.

What would be mediocre for a HH battery? It seems like the number one on the list of HH is a good battery life so that seems like a bad flaw right there.

I love the fact Nintendo consoles feel like they have their own souls rather than being just powerful upgrades. You can feel the identity in this.

I dislike that the red ball on the right side of the logo is not symmetrical with the white ball on the left side. It's closer to the middle. Why?

I feel the same! Red goes back to OG Nintendo, and its been kind of a no brainer in my mind since Sony abandoned red for blue.

I am highly skeptical, I worry that each component will have to have its own battery and all of the components, screen and controllers need to last a long while to be suitable as a portable

Im also skeptical that the portable aspect will limit the home games.

I worry battery life and console power go hand in hand and I worry they will limit eachother.

This tech is awesome but I also thinks it's less exciting than VR to me personally and I can't really justify buying both a switch and a VR headset.

I do really like the concept and I want it to succeed because I do like what Nintendo is doing, I am in awe on a purely technical level but slightly less excited as a practical gamer

I'm probably never taking it out of the house since it's so huge and unprotected so the battery life isn't too important to me outside of the controllers. I'm not buying the pro controller and I don't want the grip so I really hope that the joycons can actually run for a decent amount of time. If not, then I am totally waiting for a revision as this first form factor is just a mess.

Day one so glad it matches the initial concepts that were floating around. I only care about the portable aspects the Splatoon multiplayer stuff OMG YESSS

Main questions I have:

Touchscreen?
Motion controls? (guessing yes)
Possible to display different images on the screen and TV? (guessing no)
Battery life?
Support for past controllers?
VC strategy?

The touchscreen is the main thing; I think it would be a huge mistake to have no touchscreen— no VC for DS, 3DS, concessions must be made in porting Wii U games, much less attractive as a portable if controllers are always required (games like picross, and of course video shouldn't require them).

Of course the problem with having a touchscreen is that no game can require its use, since all games will need to work with the screen in the dock. So that severely hampers the types of games and control methods that are possible. Unless of course Nintendo allows portable-only games.

Lack of dual-screen is to me a big disappointment, and it seems so silly to have that nice extra screen that's rendered completely useless when using a TV.

Not sure if it was mentioned here, but it seems that Nintendo might be targeting an older more hardcore demographic with Switch judging by the trailer, which they haven't done for at least a decade now.

That means they're competitive with Sony and MS in their market, which is awesome.
How so? They still played Zelda, Mario kart, splatoon etc. if they should off battlefield or COD I would agree.

Sold. I'll buy it (probably) at a high price.

This is your last chance Nintendo. Don't screw it up!

The physical design is pretty ugly though.

Neat.

Not nearly as compelling as VR, but it seems to be filling its own niche with being a portable console of sorts.

I wouldn't say I'm excited about it, but I'll be interested in hearing more about pricing and software.

For now though, I can safely say that my interests moving forward lie mostly with VR.
