It does:
Pretty sure he means the shell that the detachable controllers plug into, not the screen. We didn't see that in the trailer.
It does:
Don't want to be a party pooper but I'm really worried at the video on 0:39. The framerate while the guy is playing BOTW on the park looks atrociousLike 10 fps or maybe less. Hope it was just the video and that the final product can run smoothly : /
Missed opportunity not calling it the Swiitch tho.
No, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them offer a home-only version later, but definitively not at launch. They know how multiple SKU/devices can confuse people, they won't try it.(Post got lost on end of previous page so let me try again...)
Is there anything stopping Nintendo from having a home console only version of the Nintendo Switch?
Why a $100 difference to basically remove a cheap 720p 6" screen, a battery and some plastic? If the traditional Switch releases at $350, but the home console only version releases at $250 I would be there day one.
If the the price is 300$ I predict Wii U sales numbers
Here's another...SNES style!

I love the fact that the logo is a Yin-Yang:

Uhh that part is a slow motion gameplay mechanic lolDon't want to be a party pooper but I'm really worried at the video on 0:39. Personally, I have no interest in gaming on the go. I'd be much more interested in this thing if the hybrid part was removed entirely and it was just a box with a port for game cards that played great looking Nintendo games on my big screen with the new Pro controller.
So this thing is a new portable or a new console?
Either way it cant run crysis.Any info in what sort of boost or horsepower (if any at all) provided from the dock/console? I hope it's more than just a TV-in stand.
Also the "dock" obviously houses tons of hardware...it being bigger than the "console" itself... is it really possible we get an upgraded version of what we're playing on the portable module as soon as we dock it?
or it's a more powerful Wii U and a less portable 3DS all-in-one destined to fail.
I know Nintendo usually has this as a priority, but I wonder how hot it can get.
i'm pretty sure those are the two controllers and the circles the analog sticks
Well, DS and Wii impressions were almost universally bad, no?Going over some blogs and Twitter accounts, impressions are really, really mixed for this thing. Based on who you are, it's either heralding in a return to form for Nintendo or it's a more powerful Wii U and a less portable 3DS all-in-one destined to fail.

It does. One is plugged in in the trailer.
Not that it really matters but that controller is dreamcast ugly
Man it's been a few hours but I'm still super giddy about this. I cannot wait to hear more, and I am so excited to actually get one of my own come March of next year. Obliviously there are still a lot of unknowns, but as of right now the Nintendo Switch is definitely hitting and surpassing my expectations, super hyped!

It dipped a tad but not 10 fps bad
Not worried about heat. I'm worried about noise.
So? Wii was laughed at and anyways I see more positive over negative.Going over some blogs and Twitter accounts, impressions are really, really mixed for this thing. Uh, yeah. But it's also a Yin-Yang.

With Skyrim Remastered (who are we kidding, it's definitely not the 360 version) and Epic amongst the supporting studios, we might be able to receive ports from PS4/XOne relatively easy. That'd be pretty damn amazing, even if the ports all ran at 720p.
I'd see myself buying Doom again for portability or GTAV or whatever comes out in the next few years.
With Epic on board, I hope that Nintendo has solid online infrastructure in place too. They must be able to get F2P games on board, they are a huge part of gaming atm.

I was thinking the exact same thing as soon as I saw the consoles name. "HEY! Turn it over and Switch! OH NAH NAH NAAHH!"Missed opportunity not using Will Smith - Switch as trailer music tho
I doubt it. It's just a break out box for the portable.
One thing for sure is this finally a 1080p ninty console right?
Cuz 720p is what kept me from playing the wiiu more beside my ps4 ect
