Behold Nintendo Switch (March 2017, Hybrid w/ Dock, Detachable Controllers, Nvidia)

Is there anything pointing out that we will get a new Metroid? That's the only thing left for me before getting the console...

The Switch clearly isn't going to be on par with the Xbox One and it's not going to receive every game but the Vita got a ton of PS3 ports despite being around 10 times weaker. Switch will be two to three times weaker than Xbox One. A lot of games will be possible.

Also Activision made Wii versions of COD for years even when it meant cutting specific bits. If it's profitable, they'll do it.

Report: No Headphone Port on Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers

According to a source close to the Switch reveal trailer? And her evidence is what is seen in a trailer. I mean idk I'm not going to start anything.

There will obviously be some games multiplatform games that will be released on Switch. But I'm sure the poster was talking about expecting majority of AAA multiplatform games like Red Dead, Mass Effect, Ghost Recon and etc the achances are quite low.

I was just looking at COD or Battlefield. I'm not expecting any big AAA games. Yes, it would be nice to have GTAV, but if this system can't get they yearly Madden, NBA (wait it's already been shown), FIFA and COD, then there's a big problem for Nintendo again.

Nothing in particular point at it. We know that Retro Studios is working on at least one game since a damn long time (DKCTF was finished for the holiday 2013), but we have no clue about what it is.

It's not a speculation. She repeated what someone else said to her. Someone she trusted, anyway.

I guess this kinda answers my question that you can't just connect Switch with an HDMI cable or something to any TV. What I want to know is if we're able to dock one Switch to another's Dock.

My goodness, vareon. Please keep that kind of filthy talk in the Off-Topic Forum.

She's saying someone involved in production of the trailer (potentially an actor?) has told her that the pro controller used in the trailer has no headphone jack. We don't know for sure based on the trailer because there is no good view, so she's confirming that the model used in the trailer has no headphone jack. That can change if it's not a final design obviously.

Wii is not really something that bolsters your argument, seeing as it got throwaway ports or spinoffs in a lot of cases. Modern Warfare: Reflex and Dead Rising: CTYD come to mind.

And even the Wii-U got a few ports at launch, didn't it get COD:Ghosts? It's not really indicative of long-term support at least.

Modern Warfare Reflex was actually a really good port. It just came two years late because IW wouldn't touch the Wii and Treyarch set up a dedicated team for ports. It didn't get promoted for obvious reasons.

Wii U got Black Ops 2 and Ghosts and would have got more if they were selling decent numbers.

No, I actually agree with you here. The hardware used in the trailer does not have to be final. Having a headphone jack in the Pro would be good for Voice Chat if there even is Voice Chat.

I just noticed something. Take a look at this still from the reveal trailer (2:31 into the video when antisocial Karen shows the console to her friends):

See that weird icon to the right? It bears an interesting resemblance to this one:

I find this pretty amusing, since I've never seen something like it before. I mean, you don't see the AMD logo stamped on the XOne or PS4 hardware, for instance. Can someone clean and focus that image so we can see if it is indeed the nVidia logo what's there? It could mean that there is a stronger partnership between Nintendo and nVidia that goes beyond just the hardware design.

Hey folks, is it reasonable to fear a system launch delay? March just seems too soon considering we have like no announced games, no specs, no OS details, no clear performance details (granted, Nintendo). Just seems way too soon to actually be happening then.

On the other hand it's also too late to delay it, since they just got the PR going with that March date at the end.

Nintendo has traditionally been comfortable with letting their chip manufacturers put their logos on their consoles, haven't they? Would expect an nvidia logo on the switch, tbh. Edit: though that logo looks different to me.

Hasn't Nintendo always stamped their hardware with something like that? The Wii also had a little ATI badge on the side.

We've seen ATi logos on GameCube and Wii, as well as IBM logo on their packaging. (I believe it's somewhere on the Wii U one too, but it's not in front and center like with the Wii.) So Nintendo just likes to do that, I guess...

But man, nice catch!

Does it? I'll take a look at my Wii as soon as I get home. Never noticed the ATI logo, or it could just be my memory failing quite badly to me.

No need to fear for a delay. They said always it will come in march and said it again in the reveal trailer. No way they will delay it.
Nintendo wants to make a huge marketing push from january on (I guess).

They've been saying since April 2016. So... no.

It's been stated several, several times that March is the hard deadline. Odds are they're just mum on news because they're trying to pull an Apple and push everything right before release.

Okay, you definitely got me there. Then I guess this is a usual thing that Nintendo does with their consoles through history.

None of the things I bolded keep the system from going on sale.

And launch lineups are never known until a couple months before launch.

Also, according to Emily, production is ahead of schedule. Wasn't the original date slated for this holiday season anyway?

VII R and KH3 are unlikely but FF X-1 and the sequel should be possible.

Is Kingdom Hearts 3 such a big game ? I didn't really followed the news, I've watched the few trailers we've seen and it didn't seemed like a heavy game. It would be nice to have it on the Switch, it fits the public.

It's in the corner on the right side of the console (on the top one if you use your Wii without a stand).

True then. Thanks for the pic :) (although I should have definitely googled this before!). But the question still remains: Is it really the nVidia logo what's on the back of the portable device of the NSwitch?

I work for Gameblog and just asked my EIC. He said that he talked to someone who played a version of the game running on the Switch. That doesn't mean that the game will be released but that, at the very least, they're considering it.

Well he is lying to your EIC.

Well, it definitely doesn't look like FCC or CE logo, and it does look like black-and-white square with a spiral in the middle.

If the no headphone jack report is true that's really disappointing. I use my Dualshock's headphone jack all the time, it's so convenient.

Really hoping Ninty get this right, the headphone solutions for Wii U were shocking (for games that didn't just mirror output to the pad that is).

For me it's not the same logo. In the upper right of it there is some white but not in the nvidia logo.

First time reading about antisocial Karen meme so thanks for linking that :D. Now with what you just posted: Yeah it seems it's the logo of Nvidia wich is great. They need to show off the guts of Switch powered by Nvidia! Having all those labels on the back of the controller like this means that the console design is pretty much finished and ready for mass production, right?
