Huh. Game is pretty easy so far. I wonder if-

Traditional FF tip, but don't leave Cockatrice until last. They hit me with double death and wiped my party out at full health.
 
The Pokedex entries in this game are something else and kinda makes me want to grab some sort of Vita like console to play the game.

boss took 3 tries to beat. I really need to keep on top of my wobblestoppers and keep my champion meter ready for bosses. I think I may be a little under leveled though.

That intro to the game is rough, what with all the overacting and the weird setup and the Tama.

At least it gets to the point of a combat tutorial somewhat fast?
 
Wow the game sure is complex, which is a surprise given the art style. Thats not a bad thing though, and I love that they gave you a choice between pause mode and ATB mode.

Graphics are all over the place, sometime gorgeous looking sometimes very plain. Overall it looks better than I expected given that its cross platform with the Vita.

Love that artbook cover too with the LE

Can someone help me out though, I'm missing the reference in this one for Mimic

I'm afraid to say if you thought the intro was overacted that, well, the game doesn't really change from the-that.
 
I found a baby behemoth mirage early in chapter 4, and learned counter from mirage board

It absolutely wrecks with thunder element and high rate of counters

But it is not recommended at all for mirage hunting, durrrr

Counter kept killing off new mirages I was trying to prism

On the other hand, Keep leveling up Slyph mirage, she is awesome for hunting mirages with subdue, it won't kill mirages, if mobs have 1 hp left, it will do 0 damage

I checked for it, I see hooded tonberry, moogle and chocobo mirages in coliseum but not white magitek

my DLC list appears empty

Do I need to go back to the demo and try saving again after ifreeta boss?

The game should have had a prompt when you started the new game saying it detected your completed demo save and it tells you that its giving you the magitek.
 
Ugh, I tried starting a new game and there it is... the white magitek armor ticket

warning for others: you cant load the demo file into a current existing save file, it only works on new game only

I get to start over and listen to all the rambling from the twins, yay!

EDIT: ok, restarting wasn't too bad, there's the skip cutscene feature. Thanks SE

It's probably referring to Gogo from Final Fantasy VI. Has to be.
 
Anybody found any good field ability slaves yet? Flutter, Zap, Sizzle, Stroll, Joyride are abilities I've seen so far. E: Chill too.
 
Got the game but I was unsure about keeping it due to money and lack of a certain character. But I am willing other give it a go. Do you all think this game is worth it?
 
Is there a way to rewatch the animated movie that plays after finishing the tutorial chapter?

That song was kind of catchy and I want to watch it again in the game.
 
Anyone having problems buying this on PSN for Vita? It says the game is rated CERO Z and I have to add a credit card... (I always use prepaid cards for US PSN purchase)

I was so annoyed when I reached the pirate ship and it wasn't the Faris and just the Moogles.
Then the Faris shows up :)
 
After playing through this a little while (just hit chapter 4), I must say, this game is addicting. It's lighthearted and doesn't take itself too seriously, but at the same time, it FEELS like a Final Fantasy game. It's the same feeling I got back in the day when I played FF7/FF9. It's not the most epic story, and it doesn't need to be. The new characters all have good points (even Tama, when using the Japanese VO). Reynn and Lann play off each other well. Tama is an amazing mascot, though I do with it was Serafie instead, because she's great. I'm sticking to 'big' mode for the siblings, but I do hit chibi form when I feel like being goofy. Overall, the demo did NOT do this game any favors, and I'm glad I stuck with my preorder despite it.

Enna Kros is best girl.

IT's good to read this and other impressions because I started the demo and kind turned it off, because it wasn't grabbing my attention.

After reading you guysi finished the demo yesterday and found myself more interested in this.

So yeah, I'll give it a chance.
 
Any diff between the demo magitek and the regular one? Though I probably don't care enough to start a new game either way.
 
So I played for 8 straight hours and got to chapter 8. I managed to make the game incredibly easy to the point where I beat the chapter 6 boss with his adds in 3 hits. I really probably shouldn't be around level 28 right now but turns out if you do those soul quests and fight/imprism the Princess goblin outside of Corneria you get like 45k experience way too early allowing you to explore secret areas with stronger monsters. Whoops.
 
I must be pretty bad at the game. Been hearing from reviews and impressions that the game is really easy. Been playing on Active Mode with the speed set to max and it's been pretty intense. Once you screw up once and one of your stacks gets toppled things get pretty dire.

They got different Mirage Boards. The normal Crimson Magitek gets access to Haste and Ice Beam. The demo Magitek Armor gets access to First Strike and Thunder Beam. Only other significant change is that the demo MA gets Rebound much earlier which is good since it's a passive that lets your stack avoid toppling over once per battle. No idea if there are any other Magitek Armors in the game aside from those two since they were the only ones I found in the Coliseum. (I'm on Chapter 7)

The demo Magitek Armor also has a funny description.

Funfact: If you have cross save enabled, and try to start the game while PSN is down, the game will hang on the server access screen forever and you can't play the game at all.

Is it possible to start a game, THEN clear the demo and unlock the mirage even if you don't start a new game ?
