Are the gyros in general non-functioning? Have you tried any other apps?

I downloaded an app to test the gyros and it said everything was fine. Numbers would change as I moved my phone around.

I tested the auto rotate in gmail, chrome, and a video on vlc and the screen never turned landscape when I rotated the phone. I cleared the cache and did a factory reset and the problem persisted which is the weird part, but randomly started working the next day.

Just to be sure....you didn't accidentally toggle the "auto-rotate" button without noticing did you?

Sorry for the double post, but how would I know if my return was accepted? The tracking shows it was delivered, but is there a way Google will tell me if they are going to accept the returned device? Anyone have experience with Google's warranty program?

I upgraded to the Android beta program running Android 7.1.1 and battery is great again. Getting at least 4 hours of screen on time easily.

I'm also in beta on 7.1.1, still butt.

Think I got 1h25m of screen on time yesterday. Normally I don't get a ton when I'm out as I use maps a lot, but yesterday I barely touched maps and just used the camera a bit.

I did get the shut off bug that people in those links are complaining about, where my % when from 14 to 0 instantly, but I don't care about that so much since I rarely go under like 30%. General battery life just seems weak.

Sorry to hear that. Guess I just got lucky :/

That sounds exactly like my Nexus 4 after 3 years of use and the reason why I upgraded to the 6P.

I dread the day the battery on my 6P goes that bad.

PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE!!!!

Well, hoping an update fixes it. On the bright side, quick charging means I can get a huge amount of the battery back in a short time.

Damn shame. No wonder ever carrier offered upgrade programs every year. They know.

I'm on the beta, and I had the shutoff issue last night. Went from 5% straight to 0%. It was also one of the rare times that I had only partially charged this phone, so I suspect it's some kind of calibration issue rather than a bad battery.

there some way for me to rig the camera to take pics with my fingerprint/back button

Out of curiosity why would you need the back button?

You are aware of course that you can use the volume buttons. I say this because I was only recently made aware of this My self. Ha ha.

The last few days my phone has been dying fast and very abrupt. Just today while I was using it, it was at around 50% and then instantly fell to 0% and died. Is my phone fucked up?

I don't think so. Mine has been really bad with some things since the November update. Power button takes 10 seconds to respond sometimes and occasionally the gyroscope refuses to rotate the content or the camera stops working which requires a reboot. It's really odd and unacceptable - planning to talk to support about it today. I think it's just a really botched update.

That explains a lot. My.phone literally shuts off at 20%, and it gets there faster than ever.

Ridiculous.

Didn't realize it was so wide spread. I'm chatting with Google now to see the off chance that they'll RMA me.

I bought mine with Nexus Protect.

Just finished chatting with them, doing an RMA. I said I had done a factory reset, was on 7.0 with no updates available, all apps updated, not rooted, and there was no more troubleshooting she could do, so I'm getting another phone.

Good thing I saw this thread too, because my 1 year warranty expires tomorrow LOL. I didn't know the battery issues were so widespread.

Hopefully the phone I get is good...I've never had good battery life with this phone. That's literally my only complaint with it. People have raved about its battery but it's always let me down.

Seems like it's mixed. Some had great battery life on marshmallow, on the other hand I've never had impressive battery life at all.

I had absolutely stellar battery life on Marshmallow as well. Since 7.0, the battery has been bombing hard and fast. No idea if it's just the OS or the battery being shit. Just stupid shit...

I'm having the same battery issue with my phone. I basically just consider my phone dead at 20% percent because It may randomly go at any moment after that.

I'm getting roughly 12-14hrs of use between charges at almost a year old. Not too bad, but can be an issue if I'm going on a road trip.

Apparently 7.1.1 will be out officially for Nexus 6P on the 6th. Curious, for people who have used 7.1.1 on the 6P so far, are the battery issues from 7.0 fixed?

Update went through. As expected, I lost root, but I don't think it'll be a problem to get it back.

Now to see if they fixed the Bluetooth problems from 7.0.

hah, I did not know this was a bug, I thought my battery was fucked. Good to know.

GPS has been brutal for me. Don't know if it is my phone but I constantly was getting GPS signal lost when using google maps.

*sees that nexus 6p thread is bumped, comes in to say hi since I just bought one*

*sees only problems*

:(

I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of us posting issues have had our phones for over a year. Plus, the only real reason to post in this thread these days is either for new firmware updates or for issues.
