Yeah let's not celebrate just yet on the fan noise. When I got the MGS V PS4 edition which was the new PS4 version pre-slim it was whisper quiet when I got it. Now the fans can get pretty loud in some games, especially in FFXIV. It will be interesting seeing how the Pro fans handle FFXIV in comparison.

The fans on the PS4 were quite frankly unacceptable. When I had the loan of one for Bloodborne the thing would kick off all the time. Which is why I was waiting for the Pro to see if Sony improved that issue.
I know it's the 'weaker' system yadda yadda but the Xbox One OG is scarily silent no matter the game it's running.

My launch PS4 gets pretty loud when playing demanding games for an extended period of time. This is the norm for launch PS4's right?

I don't smoke and I also clear the dust off the vents regularly. Mine still runs like it did on day 1, really silent.
