United States Election: Nov. 8, 2016 |OT| Hate Trumps Love

Going to my polling station in about 30 minutes to cast my vote for Hildawg. I hope to god she wins. I'm incredibly nervous because I can never trust the American people to do the right thing. A lot of white racist xenophobes are out and about and that's a scary thing for me.

Quoting myself from the last page. Can anybody help? I'm worried they won't let my wife vote because she's registered at an old address in a different county.

She would have to vote in the county where she's registered. At that location, she can update her registration to her new address.

I found my sticker in CT to be really funny because this is the first time it had a translation LOL #RiggedSystem

Yeah same. Even though the media here present these elections as a no contest and act like Trump is just a joke candidate, I woke up this morning with a knot in my stomach. What if this clown actually wins and we in Europe are trapped with Putin to the east and Trump to the west of us.. Stuck in the middle..
While EU is tearing itself apart... Yeah pretty vested in today's result and pretty scared for a surprise Brexit type of upset.

In person ID requirements
If you’re voting for the first time at your voting location, bring one of the following photo IDs with you:

Photo ID issued by any Pennsylvania agency or the US government
US passport
US Armed Forces ID
Student ID
Employee ID
If you don’t have a photo ID you can bring any of the following:

Confirmation from a county voter registration office
Non-photo ID issued by Pennsylvania or the US government
Firearm permit
Current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government check

Does she have a bill or paycheck or anything with her current address? Take that with y'all. If you still run into issues, call this number 866-OUR-VOTE

Doesn't help that reporting exactly what Trump said qualifies as bashing trump to them.
Right, and some want to hang journalists, or think all media is wrong. The disinformation campaign by their alternate media has been damn disgusting.

Just got back. Voted straight democratic ticket. There was a bit of a line, but it only took 20 - 30 minutes. I got my sticker too.

Just got back from voting. My neck of the woods (space coast Florida) is overwhelmingly Trump. Counted 29 Trump signs, 0 Hillary signs. Talk about feeling outnumbered lol.

Interestingly, for the first time in my now 20th' year of voting, they were asking for ID's.

Hell I didn't think i'd ever be defending a Trump voter because I despise the guy, but damn if it isn't eye-rollingly predictable to see GAF piling on every single time.
Rational debate isn't even a remote possibility because each side is so incredibly entrenched. You don't even know what the guy's story is or why he voted the way he did.

I can already hear you thinking 'It's indefensible! Racism! Sexism! Homophobia!'
Yes, millions and millions of people in the US are that culturally isolated and/or uneducated that they simply can't see the bigger picture. Or simply don't think of the consequences of their vote outside of their tiny personal bubble. It's terrible and it needs to change from the bottom up.

But shouting down anyone that dares to speak out about voting Trump or disliking Hillary only furthers the already colossal divide. Brings more hate to the table. Be the better man and focus on what you can do instead of wasting time trying to convince others to see your way through insulting them. The guy already cast his vote and it's his right to do so. I'm sure he had his reasons good or bad. No need for a page-long pileup ending with greyed out names.

Now go and get more people out there voting for Hillary. Let's hope that sanity prevails.

You're voting for the highest power on planet earth and every country is watching given he has insulted basically the entire earth's population at one point bar straight white American males. What Trump is about is so transparent I don't see the point in trying to make these people out as misunderstood.

You vite for a racist sexist xenophobic candidate then don't sit here and tell me to feel their pain. When in Trump's entire campaign has he or his supporters ever done that?

Then my suggestion would be to move on. That's all i'm saying.

It's pretty crazy that I actually fear for my account a little bit writing that last post, even though I am staunchly anti-trump and always have been. This election cycle has been absolutely manic. I can't imagine actually participating in it.

that is pretty crazy its almost like you created your own paranoia out of nothing due to no evidence to support your claim or any attempt to critically think about what you're actually saying

Even if she loses that county, your vote still counts in keeping it closer.

Yeah, they were literally comparing IDs to the voter rolls in my neck of the woods. They even gave me a bit of a hard time, because my ID still has my old address on it.

You know what I realized this morning? This is Star Wars.

The fact that you can make honest and valid parallels between Trump and Palpatine should be a red flag right?

Just did my part in voting for Hillary in Virginia. Have a good feeling she's gonna lock this state down. Good luck to everyone else out there trying to make their state Blue and hope your vote is instrumental in getting Hillary in.

Wish I could vote. :( I signed up to vote but due to no car and my home being a bit away from where I'm attending college, I can't. :( Plus I got class all day.

I've waiting in line for an hour now and I can see these 3 ladies next to each other have been "voting" in the booth this whole time. WTF are they doing? There should be like a 10 min voting limit. It's been over an hour for them.

Doing my part here in a few minutes, me and the sibling going to put in two more votes for the Hilldawg. Sadly I'll be working Afternoon shift today so I likely won't be back home in time for election results (11:05pm EST is when I get done).

Also, this is coming from an Ohioan 'Zard. So yeah I get the ohio heart sticker.

I ttook me nearly an hour to get through my early voting ballot and that was with some beer and discussing each vote to make sure we all understood what it meant. The language of the ballots gets worse every year.
