In the end I couldn't pull the trigger on Trump. While he's someone who I really wanted to vote for on an emotional level, you have to realize that he simply isn't a true believer, just another GOP snake oil salesman, only more bombastic and less intelligent. I am glad he ran, and I hope his movement continues to grow and eventually pushes the Grover Norquist chamber of commerce types out of the party. This time it was free trade, in four years it might be regressive taxation, or lax financial regulation, or labor rights. When the day comes that the base fully awakens and forces the party to move beyond trickle down and hostility to labor, I’ll be ready to support them, but until then I’ll continue to begrudgingly vote for Democrats.

(And yes, I totally broke state law by taking this photo)

Haha whoa, I didn't expect to see a picture of a Johnson County ballot on Neogaf. IC18 represent. Yes or no on Public Measure C?

(and thanks for voting)

By far the most shocking thing to happen so far. I'm surprised you even went dem on one of the reps that had a Republican running

I'll be most disappointed in Ohio if this is true, although that racist school picture with the native Americans and the cowboys already had me shaking my head at Ohio

that is pretty crazy its almost like you created your own paranoia out of nothing due to no evidence to support your claim or any attempt to critically think about what you're actually saying

this election cycle man

I never said my fear was completely warranted, I do actually consider the moderation staff to be pretty good. But let's be honest, discussion is rather one-sided here and those on the other side are painting somewhat of a target onto themselves. Going against the grain on a GAF dogpile made me slightly hesitant about what it might mean for my posting privileges, yes.

But yeah, you insulting my intelligence just for giving an outsider opinion is pretty much the kind of response I was expecting. Kind of proves the point on how this election has gotten everyone on edge.

I'd be happy dropping this discussion once and for all. Let's hope sanity prevails tonight.

I know a lot of people have given you shit, and I'm sure I have from time to time, but thank you for voting your conscince. We probably don't agree on a bunch of stuff, but at least we can agree hat Trunp is not right for this nation.
: )

damn, that could get sketchy... I've only lived in one state and have always had to show an ID, so it just seems strange/wrong to not have to...
Not really. You have to be on record, and your info has to match. If it doesnt, say if you come up as voting twice, that's a felony, so voter fraud is pretty rare.

Best face turn of the election season.

I think many Republicans/conservatives will do the same once in the voting booth

No joke, I am for reals shocked at this

Was in and out in 10 minutes. I was surprisingly not the youngest one like I usually am. There was a High School student in front of me! It was mostly people much older than me though and not a whole lot but I got there pretty early at 8.

Also there were no political signs anywhere. Usually I walk by a ton of signs on my way to vote but there were none this year.

LMAO at Alucard with the heel face turn.

Have we been trolled this whole time?

To commit fraud you'd have to...

- Know this was the voting location of the person whose name and address you have
- Able to copy their signature (they compare them with the one you used to register)
- Assume they have not voted before you
- Assume they are not already voting for who you want to commit fraud for (or it will all have been pointless)

That seems like wayyy too much effort and time for one single "extra" vote.

In Maine, we don't even require a signature. Just step up to the desk, give your name/address and receive your ballot.
