Did my part. Don't fuck up, rest of America

I'm a minority and she's white. She's a great person overall but she's definitely doesn't understand some of the things I've been threw and other minorities in general go threw.

We don't talk politics at all until this election. I told her of all the crap Trump has said and may have done and she blames Hilary for it. I shrug my shoulders and dropped it. She's pissed at me because I didn't follow her lead. I told her I'm a quiet person not a pussy whipped fool. Lol...

Whelp good luck you two

Oh god these are the best. If for nothing else, this election will be great just to see all these MAGA alt-right assholes getting told that their crap has no place in America on a national stage.

No way any of that pepe shit is real.

is it?

You'd be surprised.

A lot of these guys are convinced though that they're being invaded by some sort of organization that has people working round the clock to post Clinton propaganda.

IF you support Trump at worst, you're a supporter of a racist, misogynistic, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, sexually assaulting bigot that has negative opinion of the poor and veterans.

And at absolute best you are supporting all those via proxy, which is no fucking better.

Bet's on how long after it's called does some pack of asshole make a petition to repeal the 19th amendment?

If for some reason it doesn't get made, then we make it and bet on signatures.

We need a Trump meltdown thread to post stuff from places like /pol and r/the Donald.

If someone views abortion as murder, that is almost impossible to overcome.

I am done arguing this, you guys are obviously not gonna change your mind and this conversation is a ban waiting to happen.

Ok I'll bite how is prolife not an issue anymore?

Because if people on the right were actually Pro-Life, they would back measures that would actually lower abortions due to financial hardship.

Like actual maternity and paternity pay, or transfer payments for children (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_benefit). The U.S is unique in the developed world for the complete lack of a social security safety net for children, yet somehow has a hardcore who really seem to see life as requiring government protection until birth, then is to be left to the world with no support.

Defunding planned parenthood wont cause anything but damage. You want to be pro-life? Support parents. Critically, maternity pay is a Clinton pledge: https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/paid-leave/

So yes, if you're pro-life, you'd be supporting a candidate that supports parents, right? Of course not, says the Trump supporters.

I agree with this. You can be voting for Trump for reasons not related to those things but by doing so you acknowledge that you think whatever it is that you ARE voting him for is more important than the rights and safety of all of those groups.

Please someone help me debunk this video an acquaintence keeps shoving down my throat called "Hillary's Bullies". The footage shows a montage of Hillary supporters apparently hurting or attacking Trump supporters. The first alarm that goes off is it's by project Veritas, but the footage itself is taken from The Guardian, GMA, and other news organizations.

In general, what are people saying about the Veritas videos? Threads about them quickly disappear, but as a result, I have no response against them.

Shitty people exist on both sides

Yes it is, MANY people who voted Trump find him an offensive, awful man. They felt that they had no other choice because:

They see Hillary Clinton as the epitome of corrupt career politician.

They are ardently Pro-Life which makes any Democratic candidate an absolute non-starter.

They don't agree with more liberal economic policies.

There are many situations that could cause someone vote for Trump besides simply be racist. Are many of them racist? Yeah, but not the majority.

This is the correct answer, you can find voting for Trump to not be ok as a liberal, but you have to realize that many of his voters are holding their nose while filling in that bubble.

I get that both Clinton and the Democratic party are extremely distasteful to a broad subset of the electorate. I really do.

My dearest Aunt was always liberal in her youth but now can't vote for anyone pro-choice. She doesn't agree with most of the Republican platform but she has been reduced to a single-issue voter by her moral objection to abortion.

Even then, her choice this year was just to stay home.

Several people at work hate Hillary Clinton with a burning rage I can barely describe. Two of them are borderline evangelicals. One voted for Hillary, and the other three are staying home because they refuse to vote for someone as despicable as Trump. This is coming from former Huckabee voters.

Project Veritas is run by James O'Keefe, who is best known as the guy who made misleadingly edited videos about Planned Parenthood and ACORN.

There's a reason the mainstream news has mostly ignored his poop this election. Unless it's unedited footage, don't believe a single thing he posts.

James O'Keefe has a long history of selectively editing videos to make them appear incriminating when nothing is wrong. He was also jailed for illegally entering a federal office to bug the phone of a Democratic senator.

The deplorables already had a hashtag about this a while back.

That's what made me think about it today.

Look's like one was made but we need a NEW suppression for a NEW era!

Edit: Holy shit, there is one comment and I lost it.

Milliseconds?

I think we should bet on how long until it gets called a false flag by the sociopaths.

Ah, that guy. I remember the Acorn Incident.

Thanks, clears things up.

They were made by the guy who made those Planned Parenthood videos where when the full video was released it turned out that he edited in questions and that in reality he had asked about shipping costs and made it seem like he asked about buying fetus body parts.

Then there's the ACORN videos that made out employees to be pimps and got people fired. Those videos turned out to be false too, Keefe was sued successfully.

Everytime the unedited footage of this guy's video comes to light it proves to be straight bullshit, and, surprise surprise, he won't release unedited footage for any of his recent videos.

I mean, or you could have written him a letter. It's not like he knows you or your vote exists. You could have gone to the ocean and whispered it into the salty ether.

And while your vote may not have affected the actual result, the margin by which Trump loses is still relevant in how the country perceives how his type of nationalist, hateful rhetoric moves forward. Bernie didn't want you to do this, and for good reason.

Obviously your ballot is cast. But next time, consider being less selfish.

Instead, think of it similar to the person that voted for Mitt Romney in New Hampshire. It's not being selfish but rather wishing to express support for ideals and not to impact the actual result. Symbolic to Bernie and what he represents moving forward, not myself. If I were truly selfish, I would have cast my vote for Trump out of spite.

Just to be fair, I also got 2 people to switch their votes from Trump to Hillary. So you accuse me of being selfish, but think about this logically. You know Trump is going to lose the state you're in (like Cali margins), what does it matter? The electoral system is set up so that my vote is worth the second least in the country. I was acting logically based on how I felt this election. I took everything into consideration before making my final decision. Hillary will win my state and if that were not the case, I would have voted for Hillary.

The fact that Trump's rhetoric has gotten him this far is relevant to discussion, not my symbolic gesture of gratitude in an overwhelmingly Democratic state. Hundreds of thousands, no, millions of Americans will cast their votes for Trump across this nation.

What say you to them?

TLDR: In a state which overwhelmingly supports Democratic party, flipped two Trump supporters, getting shit on for a symbolic gesture for Bernie instead of questioning actual Trump supporters.

My wife and I were both raised Catholic, and though we don't go to church anymore or follow its teachings, we both remain staunchly pro-life. This is a result of both personal and family's experience with failing health and eventual death or accidental tragedy. We would not wish the death penalty on even the vilest of criminals. We know what it's like to fight to keep a loved one alive for even just one day longer and we greatly value any minute spent with them.

The US will not go back on allowing abortions, yet Catholic hospitals will risk a mother's life because they will refuse to abort near-term babies in circumstances that put both lives at risk. Being "pro-life" nowadays seems to be just being "anti-abortion" even though it is clearly allowed. In practice, "pro-life" efforts seem to result in providing less facilities or more roadblocks for safe abortions, or reducing sex education or birth control which could potentially result in more people seeking abortions anyway.

In our opinion, being pro-LIFE should ensure that everyone gets proper education not just about sex, but also their general health. Everyone should get access to proper healthcare so that they can live as long as possible and spend the most time they can with their loved ones. Pro-LIFE means that no lives are suddenly extinguished just because your skin is the wrong color in a routine traffic stop. Pro-LIFE should curb the proliferation of guns and impose stricter controls and education about them. Pro-LIFE efforts should reduce the number of unnecessary deaths from guns accidentally being shot while mishandled at home.

If you are truly a single issue voter that's pro-LIFE, I don't see how you can just vote for a party that is spearheaded by someone that is the anti-thesis of your single issue.

My mom and I just voted for Hilldawg.

We're in Texas so it was a pointless vote, but fuck it.

My wife and I voted for Hillary as well in Texas. I have a lot of R friends but none of them really like Trump. We're all in agreement that a vote for the dems is a vote to overturn Citizen's United, which, with the exception of a few people who just really don't understand how it works, is a terrible thing.

I saw a poll watcher, but he was too far away from the polls to do anything about it, and as a white dude, I just got ignored. That said, even if it was just some old dude who looked cold from standing outside all day, the prospect that these guys could be threatening people elsewhere terrifies me.

That, and the fact I fear my voting district overwhelmingly is going to Trump based on yardsigns/most of the population being older, uneducated Caucasians. I need this to end, now.
