Why is Texas becoming more blue? Immigrants? Urbanization? Demographic changes (more young people etc)? I know there is a lot of high teh industries in Austin etc, would guess those areas are blue already?

Mostly a growing Latino population, but I imagine the other things you listed are also factors.

A lot of you guys will really understand just how fucked up things are if there's a Democratic president with a Republican Congress and Senate.

Literally going to be four entire years of gridlock, you thought it was bad under Obama? At least he had the Senate on his side.

It's going to be fucking brutal the next four years.

Yesssss

Everything about this woman is fake.

Because there are still millions and millions of bigoted, idiotic, inbred fuckwits who will vote Trump because they're scared of brown people.

I had a kid in my unit saying as a mexican he would vote for trump. Luckily he is only 17 so he can't but still. It's scary how willfully stupid people can be.

Not that shocking Dems not taking the Senate. Their big leader was not talking policy except more Obama - who the public voted against at the Congressional and Senate levels repeatedly.

Trump seems to be winning everything. We are so fucked. Maybe (probably) I've had too much to drink, but I feel this is not going as planned. Hope I'm wrong...

Well sounds like house will stay red, which is good. Hillary will win easily when it's all said and done though.

It certainly will be fun to watch your party further corner themselves.

By either:

1.) Going into party Civil War, that could paralyze your party.

2.) Doubling down on the vicious cycle strategy of uniting the party through ever escalating partisan rhetoric to mobilize toward a common enemy that played a role in giving us Trump and is risking the long-term future of your party.

The popular vote being where it is right now makes me nauseous.

Lots of demographic shifts for the most part I think. Youth, immigration and pretty culturally vibrant and active metros that attract more of those two groups.

Nothing is a guarantee of course. Some disaster could happen, like terrorism, bad presidents, poor lawmaking by Congress, to reverse those trends. But the trends are definitely there.

Are you kidding me? Trump will be much worse.

Holy cow man tap the breaks a bit.

He or she could have worded that better but their overall point is true. Trump is a racist, sexist, xenophobic, non tax paying, sexual deviant who has no clue how to run an entire country. He has run on a campaign of hate, fear mongering and violence.

Virginia not looking so hot so far. Florida is tight, but most of the outstanding vote looks to be blue. North Carolina looking pretty decent so far.
