I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.
You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.
Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.
too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.
You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.
This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.
Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.
That's not true. People in the UK had been warning people in the US ever since Brexit. It's going to happen, the closet racists/bigots and the uneducated will come out in force, don't have faith in your fellow countrymen, go out and do your part. Make the right vote to prevent it happening. Don't protest vote, now is not the time.
People didn't listen, and this is what happens. If people were able to vote in swing states but didn't, then they deserve whatever shitstorm is about to hit them. People were warned about the possibility, people were warned not to be complacent and just think "ah, it won't happen".
"Nobody saw it coming" isn't true, a lot of people wanted to hide their head in the sand and hope the problem would go away.
My mother and her idiot group of friends are thrilled.
Jim Webb was the best bet, real cool dude (met him here in VA before) and honest man, you can think the DNC for this mess, seriously, like I said, money and power, all parties I know have it, and want to use it, but seriously, that is why trump is going to win, people fed up with the whole system
Very underrated postAnd the winner is Hillary Clinton

Not so much Trump's victory as Hillary's failure.
The meltdowns, currently ongoing, rage at those who dared vote for anyone not Clinton, but a stronger Dem candidate would have won by a landslide. Moderate republicans were there for the taking and she messed up.
Perception is reality.
All the stuff said about her may have been fake, falsified, or sketchy at best, but perception is reality.
He would have been destroyed.

Could it still be possible for Trump to be indicted for rape?
So what's the best coping methods...I don't want to drink or do drugs. What else you got gaf?
It doesn't matter how shitty a job he does. Do you see the Republicans losing the senate and house for their shit?I just hope if Trump wins he can do just a shitty enough job to not ruin the country but no one is going to want him in 4 years and we can have someone like Warren come take the throne.
Are we being hacked? No way Trump has this much support after pissing off basically anyone who isn't a straight white male. This is literally unbelievable.
i voted for kodosI want a "Don't blame me, I didn't vote for him" bumper sticker
Wait a second, so trump just won the presidency, with basically NO plan what so ever to fix basically anything?.
is that right?
I just hope if Trump wins he can do just a shitty enough job to not ruin the country but no one is going to want him in 4 years and we can have someone like Warren come take the throne.
NBC too; they aren't calling Florida for Trump even though it's his now
Real talk.. do I need to pull all my stocks?
