You don't shame the obese into losing weight. You don't shame alcoholics to go sober. You don't shame drug addicts into going clean. You don't shame the poorly educated to study. Shaming only causes people to become defensive and double down. Liberals tried to shame the country into not voting Trump, and this is where its led them.

Really worried now. If you are white, nothing much will change. Everyone else will suffer somehow.

Im literally double thinking what I will do come next year.

Trump da POTUS. Trump da GAWD.

I'm honestly shocked. I didn't think he could crush Florida like that. Even if Hillary wins, Trump surprised everyone.

This year hasn't been a glowing recommendation for democracy.

Yeah. I don't know what system would work but democrazy clearly doesn't. And this opinion isn't based only on this election but of this, brexit and Finland.

Yes, it works in the sense of giving power to the majority but if the majority doesn't... I lack energy to even finish that thought. All the wrong values. All the wrong values.

Isn't Trump & his goons going to ban and dismantle the IRS?

lol white people in the US what the fuck are you doing you fucking fucks

Let's say Trump actually DOES fix the economy, can you americans forgive his complete lack of everything else he provides (woman drama, mexico drama, lbgt drama, etc)

Curious

What does "fix" even mean?! In what ways is our economy broken that he is even remotely interested in addressing? Are you proposing that tax breaks for the wealthy will magically begin to benefit the average citizen orrrrr... what?

There is no need for complex explanations, people always vote against the party in charge after two terms.

It is incredible that even someone like Trump wasnt enough for 12 years of democrats though

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

I am a minority and feel that the left has become way too toxic even for me. I wouldn't ever vote for Trump because he is mediocre, but I can see how others would ignore all of his defects if it meant getting away from the toxic sludge Hillary got surrounded with. Shame, I think she is a competent politician and I was warming up to her when she eased on her hawkish rhetoric.

If she loses, the dems are out of congress the White House and get wiped in the state houses. James Carville just stated that if she loses this is the weakest the party has been in generations.

The DNC has never built up a back bench or focused on state houses. It's kind of absurd. You win the state houses you have the most control.

I take it most ppl are looking at results online vs live.
Or if you mix online vs Live its tied.
Live has Clinton ahead.

Guys, I don't know what to do.

I'm scared for America and feel like my life is meaningless now. I am so dumbfounded and disappointed in our country. I know my life will go on but how can I wake up and accept Trump is our leader? How?
