Woke up, looked at polls right now, kind of laughed, kind of pinched myself to make sure its not a nightmare....nope. Im hoping the red states have had more vote counting done.


I said day dot before he was even Rep nominee the dude could well win it, but fucking hell....
 
The World got worse tonight. And will continue to get worse for the next 4 years. And no one will even notice. No one will even care about the stupid shit Donald is doing in office as everyone checks out into their own personal realities. FUCK THIS BROKEN DEMOCRACY. Uninformed and stupid votes win the day.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

Now Clinton has to run the table in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. She could wind up losing several swing states by just 1 to 3 percentage points, losing just a little bit too much ground in the Midwest, and not making up quite enough in the Southeast.

Repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act, which is flawed but there is no better alternative.
Repeal the few rights conquered for abortion and same-sex marriages, if not contraction towards a less secular Supreme Court
Repeal of any efforts towards climate control
Abandonment of renewable energy initiatives in favor of short-term economical gains using fossil fuels
Damage to existing international trade agreements
Possibly getting wrapped in another military engagement
Further tax cuts for the 1% and increase in the deficit

Validation of the views of fringe groups of society, namely white supremacists and misogynists.

Other things I'd rather not entertain.

What this tells me is that despite everything, this country is for White people, more specifically the White Male. It always has been, and always will be.

This election was on the backs of white women.

When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter if he is an accused rapist, a known philanderer, a con-artist. He is a white male and white women fell in line by their husbands. You know how we (minorities) carried our heads just a bit higher after Obama's victory in 2008? What do you think its going to look like for every uneducated white man?

We have all been successfully put in our place America. You won.
 
I hope American economy tanks and goes into a recession and all the rural white people suffer the consequences of their vote.

Election should have never been this close, I knew racism was alive and well. So many black lives lost and no one cared, but more than 50% of the country I live in.

More than 50% of the people in my country are willing to out themselves and what they want before the minority and let them get the shit end of the stick, with such a blatantly bigoted candidate.

A Muslim ban, he wanted to ban people of my own religion.

There's probably more in store than just that, but those are the guaranteed paths set by Trump, Pence, and the overall GOP.

Anyway, this wasn't meant to take away from the very clear and frightening plight you and other folks are facing from a stance of hatred and ignorance. Just figured it may benefit to know that even privilege means jack shit for some of us under a total Republican government.

I just think this is gonna set things back. Only things I'm looking to care for are close friends, family, and securing my job. And that's never been a good mindset to have, but I guess you gotta adapt.

I kept saying that wanting Trump to be the Republican Presidential Nominee because there is no way he could win a general election was stupid risky. Do you guys think Trump even knows how much work he is putting himself into?
