So Mike Pence is insurance against assassination, right? Trump was a liberal 10 years ago. Let's hope for the best. Also, let's hope the DNC and the media get their heads out of their asses and back a winner next time.

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

Potentially the best post I've ever seen on this forum.

I don't understand how democrats could look at the success of Bernie and the success of Trump and continue to press ahead with the most establishment candidate available. In my view it is precisely because her being a woman doesn't make a difference that allowed her to be such a flop. She's yesterday's toast. Stale upon stale.

You speak the truth. Hell, even Glenn Beck was on saying these people that voted for Trump hate him but they hate how they have been characterized and they also hate "the establishment".

I am a Hillary supporter but GAF and other forums have been just as bad as the far right.

blame the DNC for pushing through a historically unfavorable candidate

Yeah and so did the Republicans but they still voted for him.

There's a pretty damn good reason why the GOP wins midterms and why tonight is so close.

When push comes to shove, they realize that the only way for Conservative ideas to have a chance in this country is to vote GOP.

Progressives need to realize that the Democrats are the only way we're going to get progressive ideas through in a very conservative country. I didn't vote for Obama, Bernie or Clinton because "I liked them" That's a stupid reason. That's how we got dubya in the White House. I voted for them because as a progressive, I knew that's the only way we're getting anything the slightest left of center through.

But hey dat Jill Stein tho.

I take it most ppl are looking at results online vs live.
Or if you mix online vs Live its tied.
Live has Clinton ahead.

California was never at risk, we knew she would be getting those points.
It is the places that she should be winning but is not that are the problem

Fuck this.

God I hate straight white people...

The only positive thing about all this is seeing that the old argument "only straight white people can be racist/sexist" is clearly wrong. Nice to see the true thoughts coming out.

edit: People that post stuff like this are the ones that deserve this mess.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Of course people should give a fuck about minorities. But what you're doing is reducing anyone who cares less about minorities than you do into a caricature, a symbol, a "deplorable" that you instantly write off by dehumanizing them.

Good. Fuck them. Fuck every single piece of shit who thinks this is okay. They don't deserve an ounce of respect.

Just woke up here in Europe. Are you kidding me, he might actually win this?

I've said this before. You are very right imo.

Its something I've want to get off my chest for so goddamn long. But this forum is such an echo chamber that anything that goes against the narrative is immediately shouted down. If you don't agree with everything on the left you're told to go pound sand. Even now, there's tons of posts blaming white people for this election. Guess what, white people are still the largest voting bloc in this country and you can support minority and minority causes without calling significant chunks of this country racist/sexist/bigots. This forum didn't do that, democrats didn't do that, and now they're paying for it.

People saying liberal smugness and meaness caused this. Yall can't be fucking serious right? It's liberals fault that the candidate who was failing in the polls until he went for straight racism won?

The markets are collapsing right now holy fucking shit. I'm a finance major and I feel that my career prospects are getting torn apart right in front of me.

I know much worse will happen but for somebody who claims to be able to create jobs, he's sure as hell taking them away right now.
Take a deep breath bud. If you're a finance major you know this is a nice buying opportunity. Markets overreact.

I just... I don't even know what I'm going to do. Yes, I'm white and I'm straight. Hell I'm even a Christian but this is not right... This is all wrong so fucking wrong... I just... I have homework to do for class this thursday but I don't even know if there is a point anymore. Why. Our country is about to fall to the shit, global warming is going to get even worse because we'll drop out of the Paris Agreement...

I just don't know what to do anymore. So many people, so many minorities are now going to have their lives ruined when they shouldn't.
