I have about 10K USD in the bank, and I'm Canadian. I figured a Hillary win would boost the USD and I'd get a better return when I convert back...

Should I go to the bank tomorrow ASAP?

Fuck.
Will you marry me please and take me up there please please please please please

Edit: Definitely don't do that. Wait it out.

As a Bernie supporter...

I don't know wether to laugh or cry. I am now finding it amusing however how HillGAF condescendingly stated that they don't even need the Bernie people and that Bernie would have lost by YUGE margins.

I'm right there with you. Bernie and his support was nothing, not worth trying to reconcile and bring into the fold according to a lot of Hillary supporters. They were all sexist bros anyway, right? Well here we are at this moment. Looking like the supposed best candidate the democrats insisted on having, despite Bernie polling much more favorably in general election forecasts, is catching flames.

I don't feel good about this at all. I have a very sick feeling in my stomach and my head hurts. The effects of President Trump have manifested as a physical malady.

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

Good post.

We truly live in a post-facts society.

I just got off the phone with my mother. I needed some reassurance even though she was a Trump voter. We got into it briefly. She said that our family was worse off financially under Obama, which is true. I then asked her to look at Trump's tax policy and told her that his plans would hurt us even more. She waved off my concerns and went on about how we need something different and how Hillary is such a liar, etc.

I just can't do this right now. I'm going to bed. Welcome to fascist America.

Seriously don't. I guarantee that the next president is a one term president.

The supreme court won't be. Gay marriage getting axed will do wonders to LGBT people's mental health. I can definitely say it's doing wonders for me right now.

But you're right, suicide isn't the way to deal with this.

The democrats are failures, how could they let this happen. How the hell is this fucking possible! For months everyone told me (he doesn't have a chance) but fucking American celebrity worship has easily won the day. We fucking act surprised but this entire election we were talking about trump. We made fun of trump, we laughed at trump, we got mad at trump. It was always fucking trump, good fucking pick guys with hillary. Glad to see the dnc fucking fighting, they accomplished dick. Fuck, this is america! The trump supporters we all distanced ourselves from and were shocked by, that's america that's the fucking people. And we did not a fucking damn thing to convince any of them of anything!

I guess I'll quote this post too.

Pretty much everyone needs to be asking themselves "am I actually part of the solution" going forward, I guess.

This is depressing. We are waking up to an uglier America tomorrow. Oh god those Supreme Court seats. We will be fucked for a generation.

I have agree with this wholeheartedly. It's something I've believed for quite a while, but was always afraid to say on GAF for fear of backlash.

Also, are you LazerBuddha? Because if you are, then I've always been a fan of your posts. Always dropping truth bombs.

So realistically, how much can they fuck up in 4 years?

During his first four years Dubya let 9/11 happen, kick-started a massive recession and started a pointless war. Trump is a dumber fuck than Bush, and he'll be empowered by a hateful, spiteful maniacal right wing Congress and Senate. America is fucked.

This night is intense!!

*begins ritualistic chant*

12 states. 12!! It's your country on the line in one of the most sensitive decisions of our time -- let's go people...the importance of these results leaves no stone unturned..!!

I am so ashamed and so sorry to all the women, PoC, immigrants and LGBT individuals who will face increased suffering in the next four years if Trump wins.

I'm contemplating suicide. I'm serious.

DO NOT DO THIS.

Do not let them win.

Your way forward is clear. Volunteer to help people. Get political. Revitalize the left. Bash the fash.

DO NOT END YOUR LIFE. It may look bleak but don't. We need all the help we can get to reshape and fix the country.

Everytime that fucking Michigan lead grows I wanna punch a hole through the wall.

Just as I post this, the lead cuts in half. Pleeease fucking Michigan.

We don't need it, the Emperor is already here.

The United States of America will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire, FOR A SAFE AND SECURE SOCIETY.
