This is going to be a rough four years, but I think there are two shreds of silver lining:
Like the eight years of a Bush White House, four years of a Trump presidency will put so much pressure on the Dems that they'll have to put forth an Obama-like candidate that invigorates much more of their base than Hillary.
The second silver lining, and this is more of a gut feeling (perhaps purely misguided hope), is that I think most of what Trump promised is bullshit and he'll just reel back on lots of the extreme shit he said he'd do. I really do believe Trump mostly promised whatever he could to the Republican base just to get the right wing electrified enough for him to be elected.
