I feel disgusted with the American people right now,and i am sad my fear that you can never underestimate the racism and moronicness of the American people turned out to be justified. America should be deeply ashamed about themselves. Stay strong everyone who's lives will be fucked over because of this :(

I’m disgusted in how people have behaved this election on all sides. Democracy is breaking down.

I’ve seen way too much attacking of people who have different political beliefs. I’ll preface this by saying I am fairly liberal. I voted for Bernie in the primary. I will be voting for Hilary tonight. I think she’ll make an okay president. I think Trump has run an extremely toxic campaign and would be a lame duck president.

However, I’ve seen too much stuff online where people are using “Trump Supporter” should not be used as an insult to invalid a person’s opinion. This has been terrible. Just because someone has different political opinions from you does not mean they’re a bad person. Everywhere I look I’ve seen this. I’ve LEGIT seen people lose their friends because of supporting one candidate or another. Lay down the pitch forks, people.

If anything, this election has convinced me that democracy is broken. The average person is too immature to have any ounce of self determination

Well said bro, I been attacked a lot, even in private emails from people i dont even know and its disgusting imho as i would never do that to someone else. I treat others like how i would like to be treated and thats elementary stuff to be frank.

Besides, in this case, over half the country supports Trump, so it seems. Like it or not...Trump will be our next President and for that reason alone..I support him. I never shunned any President in my entire life and will never do that regardless if they are red or blue. I am an American, I didn't really care of Obama like i dont really care too much for Hilary but i still supported them with my head up high and was proud of the job Obama did even if i didn't vote for him or how i disliked a lot of his polices,etc..He still is my President.

i told a lot of my too far leaning politically correct friends to be careful. be fucking careful. push too far to one side and they'll be a greater push back.

and wulp here it is.

now we have 4 years of a fucking reality tv star as president

We did it America!

One good thing is we can finally start saying things like Trump did well in the 2nd/3rd Debate and Clinton did pretty badly with red hot material.

Also the charity dinner? He fucking nailed that.

VP pick? Actually quite good; whatever your thoughts on Pence's politics hes been a good steady head and PR guy for the campaign.

Trump is a good campaigner. In fact on these results and from basically coming from no political base? Hes an exceptional campaigner. Whether he makes a good politician is something else.

Given the weird shift to the right around the world of late this isn't that surprising - Australia has kind of had the same. Idiots like Pauline Hanson getting into the senate, a real anti-Muslim sentiment in the air and general fearmongering.

Trump is what America wanted, so hoping it isn't the outright disaster people are predicting, though I have a feeling it will be. He's a nightmare. It's a shame you can become leader of the free world by being a literal compulsive liar, bully and sexual abuser, but sign of the times I guess.

I'm out. This endless news cycle has worn me out, I can't look at his smug face anymore. Good luck, America!

Also, don't forget his own quote that if he ever ran for president, that he would do it as a Republican because "they're some of the stupidest people on the planet" (unless that was a fake quote)
.

That was a fake quote. And Trump was a racist shitbag when he was a dem, so don't hold your breath.

This country survived Nazi Germany, The Great Depression, epidemics, terrorist attacks. We'll survive this. It may not be pretty, but we'll survive. It's what we do and what we've always done.

Wow it looks like Trump might win. Rip Paul Ryan as speaker... can't keep the guy who begrudgingly supported Trump. Get a puppet in his place.

Confirmed if you're a GAF member:

You're 6'4 with a 9 inch dick, have over 2.0 k/d in COD and definitely did not vote for Donald Trump as the President of the United States of America.

I dont understand. How could this happen. I had my Hotel reservations I was ready to go to DC to see Clinton take the Oath.

The silent white majority unfortunately. There are a lot more racists in the country, then people will admit.

The only thing good that came out of this whole thing is that my state was overwhelmingly blue, otherwise this is terrible.

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

That polarizing vitriol isn't one-sided, by the way. Lots of Trump supporters have been very vocal with insults toward liberals or people who aren't voting Trump. I said it earlier, but Trump's win tonight is not due to the behavior of liberals. It's due to a combination of Hillary being a poor candidate and people genuinely liking what Trump stands for.

Yeah if Trump actually wins this all my hopes are on that Japan teaching job I was debating earlier; it's now full-on commitment, comfortable salary be damned.

Oh shit, I need to look into this. A friend of mine just got a job teaching in China with just a high school diploma and only American Eagle as work experience. I could sell my house and bounce for sure.

What has polling shown for where minority/LGBT rights factor into the average voters priorities? It's the #1 issue on GAF, but I feel like much the country is simply apathetic and yes in a privileged position to vote based on issues they feel effect them more directly... which can be criticized but is hardly foaming at the mouth hatred either.

A lot of people in my meaningless anecdotal just focus on the main narrative presented by Trump, outsider vs the personification of the career politician in a country that is largely dissatisfied with it's government.. even if there is no actual reason to believe Trump can somehow solve gridlock.

And of course much of the vote has been decided before the candidates were announced, people who have identified as one party their entire adult life and are not interested enough in politics to have anything change their mind.

Anyway, pretty surreal night... I didn't think it would be the landslide some projected but did expect a comfortable Clinton win.

Like I know emotions are high right now, but people have their world views and their opinions. Please respect them.

Its a scientific fact that 4 years of inaction on climate change by the biggest super power of this planet will directly cause millions of deaths 80-140 years down the line.

I don't give a flying fuck what peoples opinions on facts are.

My point is that I don't understand how anyone can have opinions like that. They go against facts and any form of human decency.
So please, if any Trump supporter would like to explain...
What do you think will happen when Trump does nothing against climate change for 4 years? What do you think will happen when Trump repeals Obama care and millions of americans will lose their health insurance? What do you think will happen when Trump implements his tax plan that only benefits rich people and hurts the poor and middle class? What do you think will happen when he tries to implement his protectionist economic policies, the types of policies that have never worked and always destroyed jobs and growth? What do you think will happen when he starts bombing ISIS, the guys who hide amongst innocent people? Who do you think these innocent people who will lose their loved ones in collateral damage will blame? They'll blame the guys who fired to rockets. This isn't how you fight terrorism, this is how you create it.

Do you just want to watch the world burn or are you just grotesquely misinformed and delusional?

Holy shit my blood is boiling. This is the worse possible outcome and I cannot believe people are ok with this. Where the fuck is the electoral to prevent the American public from making the wrong choice? I cannot believe this is even happening. I'm giving this 10 more mins and then im through with this shit.

Welp, I can only hope at this point that Trump isn't as crazy as he has portrayed himself.

Remember, he used to be a Democrat and has been good friends with the Clinton's in the past. It's only recently that he "switched" to the Republican side.

Also, don't forget his own quote that if he ever ran for president, that he would do it as a Republican because "they're some of the stupidest people on the planet" (unless that was a fake quote)

So... there's hope? :\

Also, fuck the DNC for not going for Bernie, who would have won this election handily (and kinda fuck Bernie for calling himself a 'socialist' when he isn't one).

Thankfully though, here in CO looks like we passed new propositions to allow unaffiliated voters (like me) actually vote in our primary...

This was the feeling I had a long time ago. People always go for the candidate that promises the most change. Hillary meant the status quo. Even if that wasn't as bad, it isn't marketable.
