Listening to CBC they're interviewing people and a trump supporter at his rally told CBC that he didn't believe trump would win, and that Donald was just kidding about tossing out immigrants; Muslims and Hispanics are great Americans and the backbone of the economy. I feel like many people thinking this are in for a rude awakening.

I remember a year ago when Trump was running, I saw people in this very forum cheering on Trump because they thought it was hilarious. And I remember back then thinking that this was dangerous. And here we are.

On this forum so many were part of the hive mind of not seeing what was in front of them. Used to using stats and figures found online to prove everything, it was posted frequently that trump winning was impossible. 3) Political endorsement only relevant if it were related to backing Trump.

It's more an uprooting of the establishment like with brexit. You have a large portion of the population not benefiting from globalization at all, and unhappy with how the government is running. So instead of running Bernie we get an establishment candidate.... DNC fucked themselves.

I think laying the entirety of this loss at the feet of Hillary is a mistake. Non-college educated whites showed up as a voting bloc for Donald Trump. No one predicted the effect that would have on this election, and I think it would have happened no matter who the Dems ran.

Now, to the extent that minorities didn't show up as much for Clinton, you may be able to blame her, due to how she is viewed as unlikeable by many.
