I need some kind of tag. I don't want people to see I'm from Alabama and automatically assume I voted for this piece of shit.

Something like "The Last Democrat in Alabama" or something.

BTW can he launch Nukes without any prior approval? Genuine question as I decide where I live

Yes. The soldiers and officers actually handling nuclear weapons are concerned solely with the identity of who is delivering the nuclear order, not the sanity of who is delivering the order.

How much of that was because "It's not realistic!"

Trump has an edge because he's anti establishment, fighting the elite.

Trump has an edge because he promised people in the rust belt and coal miners and industrial workers that he would save their jobs when that's literally not possible.

You forgot Affirmative Action. That's gone.

You forgot environmental legislation and protections around our nation and accords reached internationally. Those are gone.

You forgot about living wages for the least of us. Those are gone.

You forgot about women's rights. Those are rolling back.
Forget living wages. Trump wants to abolish the federal minimum wage completely.

I knew this would happen, fucking KNEW it

This year's already got such a fantastic track record, so I suppose it's only fitting we have another shit in our sandwich!

Alright so who can beat this orange fucker in 2020?

Corey Booker? Elizabeth Warren?

Booker sucks and is pro-corporate/establishment like Clinton.

Warren and Bernie are great but both are old. I guess Warren has a chance but that would require the democratic party to purge the pro-wall street/revolving door of corruption elements of the party. But don't know if they'll finally learn their lesson after this.

Hillary's concession speech is gonna be so delicious.

The only silver lining of this incredibly shitty election. We get to say i told you so to the morons who thought Clinton was the "pragmatist" choice. Only lasts so long though before we have to deal with the fallout.

These kid of quotes and divisive attitudes is why Hillary lost.

The vast majority of voters on either side are not racist rednecks or sexist or whatever other accusatory terms you want to throw around.

Sure they aren't. Perferctly fine supporting a racist sexist piece of shit but they must be some saints.

I'm a Hillary supporter and I'm disappointing in the outcome but dammit this thread is the best thread in all of gaf. Its hilarious as hell.

Look I agree that people here are over reacting, but at the same time its not cool to laugh at peoples legitimate fears especially with this ass hole in power

CNN getting heated debate going on now. They are handling it well I'll be honest, but the realization the Trump has won is setting in.

This Van guy is handling himself really well

He finally said what none of the pundits said tonight; this was a whitelash. Sure the distrust of the establishment and "draining the swamp" was a huge part of it but numbers like this for trump say one thing loud and clear to me. Fuck minorities

The takeaway from this election, and the thing we all probably underestimated, is how easily and fiercely stupid people can be mobilized, as evidence by the sudden surge of Trump supporters popping up in this thread. I would love for anybody who supports or voted for Trump but swears they aren't ignorant and/or a racist to give me one policy or position of his, just one, that you agree with or support that A) isn't rooted in some kind of hate, bigotry, or racism or b) is an ACTUAL position, and not just him saying "it'll be great I'll fix it i promise"

Go ahead, I'll wait.

Going to quote this for pure, unadulterated truth.

I just had a conversation with my sister in law who voted Trump. I told her "congrats on your victory, I can't believe people hated hillary as much as this" and she said "she's a criminal in my book"

Trump knew exactly what type of vote to go for, I never thought the "crooked Hillary" theme would go over the way it did.

Yeah it's not that Hillary is a failure of a candidate.

Of course not. Everything is everybody else's fault. Everybody who didn't vote for Obama is racist.

Everybody who didn't vote for Hilldawg is sexist.

Deplorable. hashtag deplorable.

Someone tell me why this logic is broken:

Majority of Americans are white
A Candidate shows strong preference over white population
Democracy kicks in and elects a candidate that will govern favorably towards the majority

Because humans have empathy and are capable of thinking about those who disadvantaged?

It's a victory speech expected soon?, It's 9,99% sure he won, and I'm just waiting for that to have some closure go to sleep (3 am, I have classes at 8 am )
