Michael Moore explaining what lead to Trump's victory and how badly he was trying to convince these people Trump won't help them. A week old. Amazing how accurate he was.

Link
He been talking about this since last year when he predicted that Trump would win the primary. Then 4 months ago he predicted that Trump would win the Presidency. Even mentioning the swing states of the Rust Belt, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as the biggest reason why.

Brexit 2.0

I had a feeling Leave would win that night, and should've bet.

Got similar odds on a Trump victory, and tonight I placed a bet. Happy days.

The battle to rebuild begins with the DNC. That place really needs to clean house.

Donna Brazille. DWS. All the Clinton loyalist staffed there. Gone

Has to be the first thing we do. There's no way all the drama surrounding them helping Clinton in the primary's didn't turn voters off some.

Gut the entire thing and put new faces in there. If we don't, conservatives will (rightly) nail us with it in the future.

Start looking for a serious contender in 2020 now I think, and hopefully grow a goddamn spine against the Republicans.

Goddamn, BBC is on point.

Hillary is "establishment" politics personified.

The entire opposition campaign ran on anti-establisment sentiments, which was festering throughout the country.

Coupled with the smear campaign leveled against her for years, it was the perfect storm for such a monumental political upset.

The disgusting madness of it all is that hyper partisanship has greatly fueled the public's distaste of established politics.

GOP basically got handsomely rewarded for absolutely refusing to do anything constructive in government for six years. Their obstructionism has given them the Congress and the white house.

When you wake up, but the nightmare is real.

You promised me jmdajr. "He probably won't get past the primaries" you said "but even if he does he'll never get elected".

I'm so worried about the world my son is growing up in, I haven't slept for 29 hours (and counting). Ugh.

I wonder if Vince McMahon gets a cabinet (do you call it cabinet?) position.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Hubris from the Left and demonizing anyone thinking of voting for Trump was the reason we have Trump winning.

Hubris in the form is picking a supremely unlikable candidate with tons of baggage.

Fuck trump and everything his asshole voters believe in. The actual bad guys just won.

Gays, minorities, and immigrants were told to fuck off, just cause.

hopefully clntton doesnt show her fucking loser face in politics ever again

people CLEARLY doesnt want her, time to stop trying to shove her down america's throat, DNC

This notion that you can support an idiotic, racist, sexist liar like Trump and then wash your hands and go "I'm not racist, etc" is laughable. If you support someone like this to be the leader of the free world, you're saying these views are OK, I don't care if you're a poor black homosexual black Muslim, if you voted Trump you are just as bad as those you think it's OK to call racist.

Stupidity won. Again.

No, this is really worrying. Now there's really no denying that being a bully, a sexual predator, a flimflam artist, and an uninformed fool can launch a person to the absolute pinnacle of material and political success.

Trump's win serves to validate and encourage every jerk, bigot, bully, conspiracy theorist, and know-nothing.

Do whatever the fuck you want without regard for anyone, kids! Be as brash and dumb and ugly and cruel as you wish. The world is your oyster.

Also gives Conservatives a blueprint moving forward.

This is not the end, just the beginning.

I don't know if someone posted this one already:

Yes, for people who don't understand that the PRESIDENCY is a political office.
To add to that, it's the most important political office in the world. I want someone with at least a modicum of knowledge running it. Tonight really showed me how fucking stupid people in this county were and are.

Trump was treated with a double standard, and anyone who critisized him was swept under the rug as "establishment", which finally passed "neoliberal" as the word thst ticks me off the most tonight.

People are going to realize why the fuck we need someone who knows what they're doing, soon enough. And I'm not going to feel bad for a single one of those people. Voted Trump? You're going to get what's coming to you. Sorry, but not sorry.

He talked about it on Maher and people here criticized him and claimed that he and Maher were just fear-mongering. But you could tell in their voice and their facial expressions that they genuinely believed what they were saying. They weren't trying to scare people. They were trying to make them understand that a Trump presidency was a very real possibility.

Taxes will go down a bit, debt will continue to grow, it's going to be the same bullshit with a different face. I know it's hard to believe if you supported Clinton, but not much is going to change aside from maybe healthcare and a bit of foreign policy.

More of the same, mark my words!
This the ideal situation, but the GOP has an unprecedented amount of control going forward. I don't think they'll let the opportunity to dismantle Obama's legacy go likely. We're going to see a lot of regressive policies put in place going forward

Looks like America doesn't like Hillary Clinton. She's been knocked back twice now and to top things off she's been destroyed by a man with no political experience. The "basket of deplorables" remark was a bad move. As was the celebrity endorsements.
Who on earth thought getting multi-millionaire celebrities to endorse your campaign was a good idea? You're poor and feel marginalized and then you have multi-millionaire rapper Jay-Z telling you who to vote for.
I remember watching the news a few days ago on the eve the FBI gave the all clear on the emails and one of her people was going on about how Bruce Springsteen would be turning up to an event. Who cares? It's much harder to convince people that you care about everyone after aligning yourself with the rich elite.
What's remarkable is that Clinton was the best that the Democrats could come up with. It's pretty obvious many Americans just don't like or trust her.

Hillary supporters need to understand that everyone who voted for Trump is not a racist, sexist, redneck idiot. There are many people in precarious situations who identified Hillary with the system that´s left them in that state and she did nothing to aknowledge their problems. By posing as the defender of the status quo she handled Trump an easy position to act as the anarchyst, defender of those less favoured by the system who may CHANGE things and change is always more seductive than keeping things as they are. A lot of this people will surely agree that Trump is a racist, sexist biggot, but the other option not only won´t catter to their problems, but was even advertising to keep things as they are which may make their situation even worse.

What I mean is that there are many reasons why someone will decide to oppose Hillary and the only realistic option was voting for Trump, exactly like people opposing Trump only contemplated voting for Hillary.

Wish you luck and I hope things won´t turn out as hellish as everyone is making them out to be.

Hubris from the Left and demonizing anyone thinking of voting for Trump was the reason we have Trump winning.

No it fucking isn't.

His biggest base simply weren't part of the people he spent his campaign saying he was going to "clamp down on".

Muslims.
Latinos.
"Inner city"people.
Women

The white voter base has been increasing considerably ever since it dropped slightly in 2008 when Obama won the first time.

Then, "coincidentally" that same voter base now at its largest and also escape Trumps line of fire, end up ignoring all the other groups hes shooting down around them and are able to "focus" on "real issues", like rallying against the establishment.......by now making a major establishment party the most powerful and influential government is almost a century.

They wanted to hurt the establishment, so they ignored the racism, the sexism, the xenophobia, the BLATANT lies that even they don't truly believe, and voted to make the current government the strongest its ever been, led by one of the richest persons in the USA who apparently represents the average working man.

I would ask someone to explain the logic, but is there any point?

IS there any logic?

- New Yorker: A Few Throughts On The Unthinkable.
3. The circumstances of a Trump victory will embolden a candidate who has already demonstrated little regard for democratic norms. Trump has threatened to jail his political opponent. He has threatened to make it easier to punish journalists. He bragged about sexually assaulting women. He has promised to bring back torture and issue commands to American soldiers to commit war crimes. He was endorsed by the K.K.K. and he wants to ban Muslims from entering the United States. He has praised the Chinese crackdown of pro-democracy protesters in Tiananmen Square.

The only world leader for whom he has ever shown respect is Vladimir Putin, who dismantled democracy in Russia. He is a reckless demagogue. If he wins tonight, he will not be chastened. After an election in which he was right and everyone else was wrong, he will be supremely confident that normal rules don’t apply to him, because for two years they haven’t. Every dangerous instinct he has demonstrated will be fed by the circumstances of a victory tonight.
4. The press, myself included, was spectacularly wrong about this election. Americans have good reasons to mistrust us, especially when it comes to predicting electoral outcomes, which frankly took up far too much of our attention. The press, especially early on, treated Trump as a normal candidate, when in fact the overwhelming focus of attention should have been on Trump’s unique disregard for democratic norms. There’s not a lot of time to wallow in guilt.

Going forward, our democracy will need a vibrant, extremely adversarial press corps that refocusses its attention away from insipid horse race coverage of politics and reclaims its place as the fourth estate, an institution that serves as much as a check and balance on a potential Trump White House as that of Congress or the Supreme Court.

The real issue is, as we saw with brexit, racists will be emboldened by this and public attacks in minorities will go up.

Fuck trump and everything his asshole voters believe in. The actual bad guys just won.

Gays, minorities, and immigrants were told to fuck off, just cause.

That's all well and good, but I wanna win elections, bud. This isn't a race to sainthood.

66 percent of White Women voted for Trump! That's a disaster for Hillary. Why couldn't she connect with them? Obama did much better with them.

Democrats are in a worse position than they were back in 2004.

This is probably the worst position they've ever been in.

The don't have state legislature.
They don't have state governorships.
They don't have the house.
They don't have the Senate.
They soon won't have the presidency.
And because of those last two, they won't have the Supreme Court.

The GOP is free to do whatever it wants with the country for the next 4 years. All of you who didn't vote for Clinton (especially in the swing states) remember that. Despite all the other factors at play, the buck stops at you ultimately. You caused this.

I'll say this about Trump

He exposed a lot of people for being racists x sexists and their voice was heard, let that be a lesson to everyone in the USA
They are the majority

Trumps rise to the president is the biggest underdog story in the USA , he got fucking destroyed by Obama during that White House dinner ages ago
Obama trashed Trump just last month and leading up to Election Day
Now Obama had to congratulate him, welp

And being Trump how does he resist at his inauguration not to lean over to Obama and say "your'e fired!"

Hubris from the Left and demonizing anyone thinking of voting for Trump was the reason we have Trump winning.

Hubris in the form is picking a supremely unlikable candidate with tons of baggage.

I am guilty. I'm guilty of the sin of hubris. I thought we had this in the bag. I was wrong. And even worse, we saw the signs and the signals, but did nothing. We thought Hillary, though with her flaws, would win. We were wrong. We thought that by demonizing the racists and those voting for Trump in general would help. We were wrong. We thought that there were people who saw what this man might bring and vote against him. We were wrong. And now, we might be potentially seeing the last few glimpses of a what could have been. A better tomorrow. But in the end, well...I think you get the picture. We fucked up. Whether the Dems learn from this remains to be seen. But honestly, no matter what, nothing will ever be the same again.

Thus begins the time of Trump. What is beyond the horizon, well who knows. But we know that it's gonna be a strange and frightening time for us all. I pray for all of you out there terrified of this. And I hope you'll be safe. Goodness knows I'm scared as well.

I don't disagree with you here, but I'm also about being pragmatic.

Why couldn't Clinton win Obama's voters? If she did she would've won.

Racism exists, no doubt about it. Trump pandered to them.

However, what happened to those white blue collar men and college educated women that went to Trump this around? They voted for a Obama, not a white woman, yet the overly simple analysis that these people are racist is a post election narrative on the Left.

I'm guessing financial issues coupled with the gullibility. A lot of those Obama voters were later disgruntled Obama voters; you saw it and still see it around here plenty. And while not the case for 100% of those people, you mix in some diet or not so diet racism and there you go.

You can't watch Trump speak and think "that's President material" without some desperate need to believe in something so very different from Obama, Clinton, and/or Sanders for that matter.

That said, trying to act like a significant portion of Trump's support doesn't come from bigotry when that was his launchpad is just insulting.

She basically just wrote the playbook on how NOT to pander. YAAAS, Abuela, Jay-Z - just one big cringe fest.

The one thing I can be happy about at least, is that I am reading that the one place I truly love about America, New York, voted greatly in favour of Hillary.

Stay strong New York, you've gotten through worse shit than this ass hat.

If you ever wanna secede from the USA. and come join us Nordic Countries of Europe I'd vote happily for you in favour. You and Canada are both welcome.

There are so many things I want to say about this, so many vitriolic expressions that I want to lambast at Trump supporters... but now that we are here, I have nothing to say. I woke up with tears in my eyes, and yet still the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

The saddest thing about this is climate change.

Social issues, economics etc can be fixed in the future. If we do nothing to combat climate change, the world is fucked. Four years of Trump as president pretty much spells doom.

I've already been thinking about whether I truly want to bring children into this world, this makes that decision even harder.

That's exactly how I feel.

Taxes will go down a bit, debt will continue to grow, it's going to be the same bullshit with a different face. I know it's hard to believe if you supported Clinton, but not much is going to change aside from maybe healthcare and a bit of foreign policy.

Same shit different day only applies under clinton, who would have faced opposition like Obama. Trump will face no opposition since the republicans fucking won everything.

Healthcare is gone, the republicans tried to repeal it like 60 times.

The real issue is, as we saw with brexit, racists will be emboldened by this and public attacks in minorities will go up.

Lets be real Racists, who were going to attack minorities, for damn sure didnt need Trump winning to change anything. This type of talk has done nothing but harm.
