Combined with what he said about kissing, in that context he's clearly saying he just does it and by "let" he means they don't stop him. Maybe 30 years ago that's "consent" in the patriarchy but lucikily these days we consider consent to be... consent.. not "I was afraid to tell a powerful man to stop."

And for all we know he has been told to stop.

Perhaps. Without actual evidence and first hand accounts you can't say "he sexually assaulted women based on saying this". It certainly wouldn't surprise me if he did, to be clear, but the quote isn't evidence. "They try to stop me but I do it anyway" is a confession. What he said is ambiguous enough not to be.

First hand accounts said he did exactly that. First hand accounts that came out before the tape and after the tape.

Personally I don't think the tape is ambiguous at all, but that's me I guess.

it doesn't surprise me that trump won. If you live in the rust belt, you know people who have lost their jobs and can't find work. there's a lot of people that feel completely left out. And if the left's best argument is you're a bigot if you don't vote for us, well you get the results you got last night.

And those accounts are valid if true. I'm not a judge and don't have the evidence. My only argument is the use of "let" in that tape means it's difficult to call it assault with 100% certainty.

I'm trying to keep positive right now, so I'll hope he does a good job but will watch his actions very skeptically.

All trepidation aside, it will be fascinating to watch this experiment that's never really been seen before, a non-politician assuming a presidency. Could quite likely be a complete disaster, but I'm willing to wait for the results before I call him such. The fact that his cabinet already looks like a GOP villains gallery is very telling though.

Spoiler alert - we made the Waldo Moment real everyone! That's some fucking dedication right there

Oh Jesus, is Black Mirror that depressive and oppressive? Just read the synopsis of the episode, but I feel bummed as fuck with that.

Love seeing all the establishment republicans being considered for the anti-establishment candidate's cabinet.

I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that more than half of the American people voted for Trump. I mean wow...

Only half of eligible voters even voted. And out of that he didn't get over half. Electoral college went his way.

But yeah, still virtually half and that sucks.

Yeah, I completely understand this. But I'm disappointed that their desire to 'shake things up' took precedent over standards of decency regarding the less fortunate in out country. They really just don't give a shit as long as they get theirs.

And honestly, with Trump, they never will. Factory jobs aint fucking coming back. If they do, you won't want them because there won't be fucking unions.

I wonder how Romney feels right now, knowing that he actually got more votes than the next President.

Also, did anyone get anything done at work today?

i had to leave i was too depressed. im still depressed actually. hoping sleep today makes me feel better

It's a collective failing. 75% of registered voters allowed 25% of the population to elect this man.

Blame racists and sexists for supporting him, but blame the other 50% of the country for doing nothing.

One detail that bugs me about this is that this guy's planet-sized ego probably just got fed the ultimate high. Overinflated self-aggrandizement maybe shouldn't be rewarded with the highest position in the land, but.....we'll see.

I literally did nothing but eat, shower, and browse the internet aimlessly.

I asked if I could work on my day off tomorrow because I feel like i'll be doing the same thing tomorrow otherwise.

Some of you may think I'm being hyperbolic in my reaction, but get back to me when you're a female minority and many of your best friends are undocumented immigrants, you'll understand then.

I blame a lot of things. A lot of things.

So do I. Depressed at the hatred. Depressed at the apathy. Depressed about the last 8 years of obstructivism that led to an election where all checks and balances have eroded in the favor of the people who high-jacked it in the first place.

I blame the Democrats.

This was their election to lose, and they blew it.

All I feel about this election now is anger, and I am just so fucking furious. I warned this would happen with childish rants that I now wish were more mature.

Democrats chose the 2nd most disliked candidate in history as their nominee and thought they could win. It's just so fucking arrogant, and that's what's so sad.

I just don't understand where this relentless loyalty for Hillary came from. It's as if the left forgot that they owe their allegiance to the American people, not their party elite.

At a time when the country needed unity, Democrats put forward someone that 50% of the country hated.

When the nation was feeling huge anti-establishment waves of passion, the left nominated an embodiment of establishment.

Whilst making an appeal as the moral superiors, the DNC was caught cheating, and then appointing a replacement cheater.

And yes, it was Democrats that elected someone who was the subject of an ongoing FBI investigation.

I get it: Trump's worse. I was an enthusiastic Bernie supporter who did vote for Hillary in the end. I encouraged my friends and family in Texas to vote for Hillary, and I'm sure many of them did. I wish I'd done more. I wish I'd acted sooner.

But for today, I'm mad at the Democrats. I'm mad that they didn't put forward a stronger candidate.

I'm mad that they're so fucking arrogant and yet continue to not grapple with these lessons: You can't win with a candidate that half the country hates. You can't appeal to the "high road" when your party is caught taking the "low road."

To win in 2020, Democrats need to get away from any "established" candidates. They need to nominate someone with a pristine, high-integrity record that can lead the entire country, not just the left. But that person needs to be free of any Fox News propaganda.

Hate to pull an "I told you so" in HillGaf land but...

But honestly, I hope you guys listen to your friends/family/coworkers when they raise these issues. Fucking acknowledge that this is more than "right wing propaganda" because it's not. Hillary's opponents are going to say "she consistently lies," and you need a better response than "lol whatever."

. . .

The whole "haha, whatever, we'll win without you" tone is the way you gamble a Donald Trump presidency.

About a quarter of the American voters voted for Trump
About half didn't vote at all

Approximately 108 million people who didn't vote is a lot of people who don't give a fuck about their lifestyle being fucked by conservatives.

I don't expect anything to improve during the midterms either.

I can't wait till the cavaliers go to meet the president... I hope it's after Obama leaves office. Lebron and th are skipping that one.

Not to be reductive, but it really was a case of her waiting for her turn after Barry. She felt anointed in '08, and got sidelined by a phenom but was given an IOU by the party, pretty much.

It's in the title; the black mirror is the screen of an device: your phone, your TV, your computer, etc. It's meant to be a look at us and our relationship with technology. So yes, often it can be dark, depressing, and unsettling

And also one of the best sci-fi shows on TV
